Beyond 2012: Catastrophe or Ecstasy - A Complete Guide to End-of-time Predictions, by Geoff Stray
    www.amazon.co.uk/Beyond-20...095506080X

It's only been released in the UK so far, but it's the most comprehensive book you'll find. (Much more so than these others!)

Geoff Stray has an extensive website that is regularly updated:

Yes, there are so many of them. Considering your probably going to get many responses... I thought I would include a book that is more on the fringes of 2012 thoughts.

I have read a variety of them, trying to get an all around point of view...

So, if you want to dive into something pretty out there, but with very interesting ideas read,

Gaia Project: 2012: The Earth's Coming Great Changes

      I really enjoyed it.

I just read 2012: The War for Souls, by Whitley Strieber. Although this is a novel, I suspect it's meant to be taken seriously. I really did not like this book very much. Strieber is not a great writer and his style seems to be imitating guys like Stephen King and Dean Koontz. His metaphysical ideas are similar to those of Zacharia Sitchin and David Icke, with reptilian aliens invading from another dimension. The book is quite dark, with lots of gore and constant action. In a way, it reminded me of the Da Vinci Code, in that with both books you can almost see the cliched Hollywood movie being planned. In fact, the only reason I forced myself to finish the book is that I know lots of people will read this book and I want to get a handle on what's out there regarding 2012. So in that one sense, I'd recommend it to anyone who is researching 2012 theories -it'll probably be a bestseller and if you believe in thoughts creating reality, then something like this can be powerful, whether in a positive or negative way.

In reply to War for Souls, I applaud you for giving it a fair read. I would also assert that the negative, dark, and Hollywoodness of the book will be much less powerful than the uplifting, light, realness we create! Positivity and joy is simply much more powerful than the opposite, and although people are drawn to it, I think they will get board with it quickly.

I'm reading "The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness" www.amazon.com/Mayan-Cale.../ref=sr_1_1 ) by Carl Johan Calleman, Ph.D. It lays out the time line of the Mayan long count back to the big bang 16.4 billion years ago. I like it as it comes from more of a scientific and not a speculative my religion or belief versus your belief point of view.

I love "Alchemy of Nine Dimensions" by Barbara Hand Clow

and her book "The Mayan Code" helps to decode Calleman's which is somewhat difficult to follow

My fav parts of "The Mystery of 2012" were the essays by John Major Jenkins and Jay Weidner

      :)

I l found myself reading "Alchemy of the Nine Dimensions" while travelling fairly fast by passenger train from London to Newcastle. The English fields and countryside, and little industrial townships there and gone again. What a magical read that was for me!
I totally feel Hand Clow's wisdom about Pleaidians, Chakras, Crop Circles, Alchemy!

And Pinchbeck's 2012 book rather honestly puts it that the writer "hasn't really got a clue about reality", which is apparently the kind of zeitgeist and/or yuga we find ourselves involved with.

Personally I am hoping to be

Barbara Hand Clow, who brings the lost continent of Atlantis into the 2012 story, is about as deep into the "fringe" as one can get.

In the introduction to her book, she mentions her work as co-publisher of Bear & Company from 1982 to 2000 (when it merged with Inner Traditions). She played a major role bringing José Arguelles' "The Mayan Factor" into print 20 years ago. Bear & Company has since published books on 2012 by John Major Jenkins and Carl Johan Calleman.

        www.innertraditions.com

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but historians of the New Age movement will find some significant connectiions at work behind the scenes. Could it really be all about selling books? Naaaaah....

I think it's fair to identify Barbara Hand Clow as a major figure behind Mayanism.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayanism - this entry really needs some work!

Mayanism should not be confused with academic scholarship on the ancient Maya, which is represented by events such as the upcoming Maya Meetings at UT-Austin and the websites and publications of MesoWeb, PARI, and FAMSI:

I have a feeling an afternoon in her presence is quite wonderful. With Daniel Pinchbeck, a nervous wonder might ensue?

I'm going to recommend a book that isn't on 2012 per se, but nevertheless had a profound impact on me and stimulated my interest in the calendar and all things associated with it. It's a novel about the conquest of Mexica written from the perspective of Cortez’ interpreter Malinali Tenepal:

                Feathered Serpent
A Novel of the Mexican Conquest
                Written by Colin Falconer

"Malinali Tenepal is on a mission of her own. Inspired by the predictions of her late father, a prophet and astronomer, she seeks the legendary Feathered Serpent, who will set the native population free from the tyrannical rule of the Mexica and bring about a renaissance throughout the land. She is blessed and cursed with the certainty that she, Malinali, will be at his side when he comes to power.
                www.randomhouse.com/catalog/...lay.pperl

I was fascinated by the perspective presented here: that Cortez was Quetzalcoatl - The Feathered Serpent - and did fulfil the prophecy largely because Malinali believed him to be. It was about how prophecy and belief intertwined to make things happen. Like 2012 :)

                Loved this book.

                  Ooops, Cortés. Sorry 'bout that.

Hi Hoopes - I'm sure you're enjoying your cosmology as I am mine...

I am learning that I have a strong affinity for the Pleiades as well as Atlantis...

All of us are sorting out what we believe to be true by seeing what resonates deeply with our inner Being. For years I have been intuiting information that later shows up in books. One example is multidimensionality: your first chakra aligns with the 1st Dimension, 2nd with the 2nd, etc - when I saw this in Clow's book yrs later it was very validating. Tends to confirm my belief in starseeding and makes me realize i have a strong connection to the Pleiadeans

Hi Nansee! A moment ago I glanced out of kitchen window, lots of sun, and a bright white-green overlay of seven interconnected suns, and I come back to my laptop and your new post is the first I read. Lots of pleiadian teachings around my own home too! Namaste and Love Always, Akasha

"For years I have been intuiting information that later shows up in books."

That's wonderful, Nansee. I hope it inspires you to write one! Whatever floats your boat... Just remember these ideas have been around for a long, long time.

Though the book The Ancient Secret of the Flower Of Life by Drunvalo Melchezedik is not about the year 2012, it does discuss that as well as pretty much everything you have ever wanted to know about life, the universe, ancient civilizations and your purpose on Earth. It is a great book to check out to get your bearings on EVERYTHING as you begin to remember the encoded information in your DNA. I REALLY REALLY suggest that ANYONE who hasn't read it, pick up this book. It speaks the truth and nothing but. Another great book that tells the story really straight forward is The Gaia Project: 2012. It explains what 2012 is about and why it is coming.
