"all progress depends on the unreasonable man"

so if we look at "prophecies" and the manner of their transmissions...

one way of looking at them is that they are kinda like the elaborations of a symptom of mental illness or a hoax etc...

and yet...

because there is that obscure territory between the visible and the invisible and the mover and the moved...

well in that void of meaning there is a lot of space for superstition and the deep overlaying tangles of conspiracies...

"credo quia absurdum"

the manifested march of history is built on beliefs that do not require our belief but rather interpretation...

the pilgrim routes of compostela could be viewed as a political ploy and yet for many millions might represent a spiritual quest...

so...

when terence mckenna expounded on timewave zero or made claims of being an abductee...

did the guy in any way shape or form have any experience or belief or was he just applying the basic formula of "you have to put in if you want to take out"...?

the pact with the devil that allows the individual to interact with the group etc...

should the prophets of 2012 be hailed as so many messiahs offering new opportunities to embrace the absurd...?

or are they simply the false prophets that abound where faith is no longer possible and cynicism is absolute...?

Natus est Dei Filius, non pudet, quia pudendum est;
et mortuus est Dei Filius, prorsus credibile est, quia ineptum est;
et sepultus resurrexit, certum est, quia impossibile.

what blog will you post to when you see jesus smiling at you when the bread pops out of the toaster...?

  • People should have their own religious experiences. It's a realy DIY kinda thing IMO. Why prophesy? People want unicorns and aliens and powerful unseen forces that really control everything, not seeing the beauty that is around us and taking responsibility for it. Some connection between past wisdom and future event that leaves Us Now out of the tv picture. It is a tragedy. I think We are evolving, and that things will get better now. That is my prophecy.
    • well the problem with any proposition is it's always kinda unfounded...

      whether it's as outlandish as a marginal trailer park abduction scenario or as seemingly founded as farce preserved by an ancient academy of elders etc...

      I mean in the objective world of my subjective experience there are a zillion inconsistencies between the PR and the mechanisms etc...

      when the familiar is such a treacherous zone of impenetrable conspiracies...

      that leads a zillion undead to perpetuate the horrors of war and battery farming...

      then why not toke some pot and give belief over to synch's from fragments of advertising slogans and tv shows...?

      why not see significance in crop circles and the whimsical associations of eclectic fantasies...?

      isn't evolution just another dubious prop amidst a myriad stratagems of hive oppression...?

      does a watch evolve into a clock or the dry biscuit by force of will over a zillion years become a strawberry cheesecake...?

      isn't nature itself just waiting to follow any leader that might come along with a validating budget and a project for high rise landfills...?
