The not so random event predictor.
"But the project threw up its greatest enigma on September 11, 2001.
As the world stood still and watched the horror of the terrorist attacks unfold across New York, something strange was happening to the Eggs.
Not only had they registered the attacks as they actually happened, but the characteristic shift in the pattern of numbers had begun four hours before the two planes even hit the Twin Towers.
They had, it appeared, detected that an event of historic importance was about to take place before the terrorists had even boarded their fateful flights. The implications, not least for the West's security services who constantly monitor electronic 'chatter', are clearly enormous."

Re: The EGG
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 11:23 AMI wonder how this compares with terence McKenna's time wave theory.

Re: The EGG
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 1:50 PMI'm curious to know whether it predicted the recent protests in Iran or the death of Michael Jackson (the creator of the site mentions that he started the project after noticing a perturbation that seemed to correspond to Diana's funeral), but the forums seem preoccupied with pseudoscientific, 2012-related stuff:

Wow. We really only see what we want to.
How does Diana and 9/11 fit?
In what way does it mention 2012?
Where did you make this correlation?
Jeez, Hoopes. You're hopeless. -

Re: The EGG
Mon, June 29, 2009 - 1:44 PMGood questions! I don't think Hoopes is hopeless in this case. Certainly McKenna's Time Wave theory also did not predict any of those events. he clearly set it to coincide with his theories of 2012 which he had espoused back in 1975 in his "The Invisible Landscape" after reading of it in earlier authors like Philip K. Dick and Jerry Pournelle. he cxl;aimed, however, that it was based on his I Ching reading.... -
