Xians have made a big deal of Lucifer AKA Satan, Bacchus, Dionysus, Eros, etc., because he represents fecundity, sexuality and sensuality, hedonism, all of those things that the Xians hate and put down because he is a threat to their puritanical hegemony.

He is the cloven-foot horned/horny goat boy who ruts all year round and calls us to participate in his age-old cycles and rituals of death and renewal; they are the pie-in-the-sky ones who saw/see all of that as the biggest threat to their new-world order controlling regime of coercion, fear, anxiety and depression. They did it in the ancient world when they transformed the Roman Empire to the Holy Roman Empire (which was none of the three but replaced Caesar with the Pope, and a mythology of life with a mythology of death), and they are trying mightily to do it again!
