While doing the research for “2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl”, the subject of sexuality and relationships became increasingly critical to my thesis on the evolutionary shift in consciousness that I link to the Mayan Calendar’s prophetic schedule. I did not expect this to be the case, and did not welcome it at all. On a personal level, it had intense and painful ramifications that are discussed in the text – I ended up separating from my partner (at her request, moving out from our home with our daughter) during this period. For me, the personal and intellectual work around sexuality remains an incomplete process, and an area in which I still find myself struggling for clarity.
During my breakthrough (or breakdown, or both) on the subject, I had a series of realizations about my own relationship to sex and love – that it was socially conditioned, culturally programmed, and I had never fully explored my own individual path in this area. I realized that I had been imprinted with a deep underlying sense that women (the victims) were somehow morally superior to men (the patriarchal dominators), that monogamy was somehow “good” in and of itself and pursuit of one’s desire for alternative partners was necessarily “bad” while one was in a committed relationship.
During my initial powerful realization period, I looked back over my life and realized that women had routinely misused their power over me in a variety of ways that seemed hideous and unfair – going back to my childhood, where my repressed grandmother had given me enemas over my strident objections, which I now recognize to have been a form of sexual abuse. I was not breastfed, which may have had many consequences. My early efforts to make sexual connections with women as a teenager were abject failures until I discovered the overuse of alcohol as a means to deaden my self-consciousness and reduce their defense mechanisms – following the path of many other young men I knew. Essentially, I saw that my sexual and relationship history had been a kind of adolescent flub, where a lack of real consciousness had been applied to questions of desire, intimacy, and freedom.
I then began to question our whole conception of love, which often seems related to possessiveness, control, and jealousy. As I discuss in the book, it seems that true love might begin with wanting whatever was of the highest good for the other, even if that meant erotic experiences with others, if that was desired. Possessiveness and love are perhaps antithetical concepts. In two chapters of the book (p 303 – 332), I attempted to look at the situation from a lot of different vectors. I discussed Tantra (Julius Evola and others), sex magik (Demons of the Flesh by the Shrecks), the Kali Yuga as the wrathful manifestation of the goddess Shakti (Shakti represents the sexual energy that powers the universe), and materialism as an expression of the negative aspects of the mother archetype. I explored Laura Kipnis’ book “Against Love”, and a book on the free-loving bonobos versus the aggressive chimps titled “Apes and the Origin of Human Violence”. I also discuss the findings of The Kinsey Report, which provided controversial evidence that human sexuality represents an infinite spectrum of difference.
To me, The Kinsey Report, taken seriously, warns us that any attempt to restrict sexuality to a simplified framework such as “monogamy = good, nonmonogamy = bad” is going to cause a huge amount of negative psychic energy to amass around this area. In fact, I propose that our current civilization represents an extraordinary build-up of negative Shakti energy that is materialized in our destructive technologies, miserable bureaucracies, and unhappy relationships. Of course, from an alchemical perspective this means there is an enormously potent pool of energy awaiting transformation.
My current hypothesis is that the realization of a fully conscious and scrupulously attentive sexual ( or better, sexual/spiritual) liberation is necessary for the continuation of the human species, in the near term. I can go into many reasons why I feel this may be the case. One simple one is the possibility of population control. I do not think it is going to work to reduce the size of the global population by the repressive means that the Vatican approves. I suspect that what would do the trick is a realization of eros as a path toward spiritual self-creation rather than simply physical procreation. As Evola discusses in Eros and the Mysteries of Love, this is a higher order use of sexuality than the demotic use of it to create more progeny – a practice that the earth can no longer bear. The global pop is still increasing 80 million per year. From 2 billion pop in the 1960s, we now have 6.5 billion people. This increase cannot continue – the planet cannot sustain it. Sexual energy can be repurposed - otherwise, suppressed desires resurface as projected shadow material.
Although a Tantric practice aimed at spiritual self-creation through conscious use of sexuality to explore non-ordinary states is probably reserved for a self-selected elite, a much broader population could gain from the positive re-visioning of sexuality as something basically good (at the moment we still suffer from the Victorian repression we have inherited, where “f**king” and “screwing” are curse words, and the popular discourse around eros is about as low as it could possibly be) - I propose a potential "resacralizing" of Eros. I see the possibility of a different form of sexual education for children – perhaps seeing adolescence as a time of positive sexual experimentation, and creating liberated spaces for children to explore relations with each other with more consciousness. These ideas were proposed by Osho (Rajneesh), and I recommend his book, Sex Matters: From Sex to Superconsciousness. Also, Allen Ginsberg’s thoughts in Spontaneous Mind, a collection of his interviews.
Obviously, in our present situation, a more conscious form of sexual liberation would also mean a much deeper level of integrity around sexually transmitted diseases and necessary protections. This opens onto a much larger area of discussion we could get into – how another necessity to save the human species from self-annihilation, according to my hypothesis, may be the positive embrace of radical transparency as a necessary element in constructing new social structures. I suspect the Internet provides a model for a potential system that would institute trust-based networks and hierarchies based on transparent and ethical conduct in all exchanges and relationships. By opting into such a network, you would be compelled to abide by a higher level of ethical conduct in all exchanges conducted within the network, personal as well as professional. It would be like creating an indigenous tribal context on a planetary scale.
There are many other aspects of my thought around these areas – I hope we can cover them in this forum.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Tue, June 20, 2006 - 6:12 PMThank you for opening this thread or topic.
My first inquiry is who takes care of the children and whose children are they? You noted in the first page of your book ‘For my daughter’. Who is the ‘my’ in an open sexual society? -

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Tue, June 20, 2006 - 7:18 PMI think that the MY still refers to the biological father and mother of the child. They would both co-raise the child, possibly even with help from their various partners. This is how about 50% of us are currently being raised, and have been raised for decades, according to divorce statistics. In the open system that is being suggested, Divorce, per se, would not be an issue, because people would be able to move on whenever they feel the need. Instead if ideas like stepfathers and mothers (even those relationships end in divorce, so many kids are raised by multiple sets of ever changing parents, orbiting around their biological 'rents) there would be co-parenting. By removing the stigma that exists around divorce, we are open up our children to a more positive experience surrounding the partings that happen when lovers need to move on.
I can foresee that some might next ask, well how do we ensure that parents do not abandon their children? Two things here: one is that current legislation requiring child support (and breaking down the gender requirements of who pays what to whom) would remain in effect in these situations. The second is do not underestimate the biological imperative to care for ones own offspring, coupled with the human capacity for love. The laws, coupled with love and nurturing tendencies, would keep the children cared for. Yes, nurturing tendencies exist in both men and women, even though our society (which we are re/deconstructing in this post) does not encourage men to explore it in themselves.
Anyone interested in how such a society would function ought to check out Island by Aldous Huxley. Much of what Daniel mentions above takes place in that book, from open relationships, to children being encouraged to explore their sexuality, thus removing the taboo and "dirty" attached to sex in puritan western culture. There is even the Moksha medicine there, the perfect psychedelic.
transitioning to the psychedelic experience and sex, I highly recommend it (using legal substances of course…). It was one of the main times in a sexual experience where things truly flowered, it was not about the orgasm, we were in the NOW/HERE, and an amazing degree of spirituality and bonding was found with the aid of the mycelial thinking cap. Sure, it may be a shortcut, as people have mentioned when the psychedelic experience comes up, but I feel it is just as valid in tapping the mind, the consciousness, of spirit that takes us on our journeys. Things are speeding up as we approach 2012 (novelties increasing as Terence would have said) so why not get on the fast track. With heart. with love. with intent. with preparation. in responsible settings.
done for now, but SOOOO very excited this thread has been opened, and that I can start unraveling my preconditioning, fears, and preconceptions about sexuality and spirituality. -

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Tue, June 20, 2006 - 7:50 PM‘…the MY still refers to the biological father and mother of the child.’
This would have to be the first notion to be abandoned in a open sexual society. The question of whose DNA may not be sufficent to trump a location and a child’s willingness to be part this haggeling process of ‘whose children and which location’.
I am sadened to say I know someone whose multisexual partner and both sets of children who had a misserable experience.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Wed, June 21, 2006 - 9:55 AMI find it of interest that after the many hundred’s of words posted, no one have made a comment concerning children.
No one has made a comment concerning the most basic question; how are the children to be cared for in a multi sexual partnership paradigm?

thanks for the thoughtful opening to this discussion...when you have a moment, could you say a bit more about "radical transparency" in your context...thanks!

ok folks, it seems in america that everyone thinks Tantra=Spirtual Sex.
Tantra is an entire 'vehicle' and to sum it up Tantra is a practice that is:
24/7
well it eventually becomes 24/7
All of Life is viewed as school
the goal of the practice is to take EVERY situation good/bad/whatever
convert it into spiritual growth.
'When life hands you lemons make Lemonade'
if i understand correctly, it is particularly suited for the Kali Yuga,
(according to the Bhavada Gita it is transmitted before the yuga begins to be available)
because at it's core is the practice of turning the seemingly Dark into the Light of transformation.
why people get stuck on the sex part i don't know...
i have been using that energy for transformation
for the last oh (don't tell anyone)
6 years....not that i haven't thought about it...
or acted alone...
but it IS energy, and transformation takes Power
and because it is easier for a woman to lose power in a sexual relationship
(i promise to follow this up...)
i just preferred not to...
now my transformation has it's own momentum soooooo...
we'll just leave it at that...
ahem
going now...

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Tue, June 20, 2006 - 10:29 PMHi Daniel,
Thank you for your openess. I can feel your depth - your searching heart. Om.... we are finding what we are looking for.
For myself, I love the idea of being mated with One whom I can evolve with magically and sacredly devoloping the gifts inherent in what is to be in Union. I am not opposed to others being in open realtinships, but like an art, the more you get to know one form of medium, the deeper you can go. There is something to be deeply discovered in one on one relationships if there is no fear involved, no expectations other than the mutual respect and DEEP love you both hold for each other to rise up. Although I have not found that certain being yet, I trust in the eternal nature of my being to engage as deeply as I dream it so. Even if takes a few lifetimes.... :-)
I found this to be VERY enlightening, adding even more insight towards my own search for truth.
www.kamakala.com/history.htm <<<<Through this powerful book you will learn in explicit detail how biophobic patriarchal values have played themselves out in our personal lives in the last half of the 20th century, and how these values have impacted our sexuality, our relationships between men and women, and our relationship with the Earth.
You will discover all the historical events they didn't tell you in school, and all the things they still refuse to talk about!
Some excerpts from the book below:
"The repression of humanity's biological nature, became externally manifest in the violent oppression of women and feminine values. The denial and repression of sexual energy, became the fuel for the engines of torture and killing.
"In a certain way, the attack on women can be seen as a extension or externalization of the whole ascetic, anti-sexual program that permeated the Indo-European tribes. Asceticism was based on the idea that spiritual growth depended on the control and conquest of Nature. Human beings set themselves against Nature, supposedly to transcend the Natural World. Once the Female became a symbol of the Natural World, she was consequently set upon as something to be controlled, conquered and even eliminated.
"As young children we are genetically programmed to interact and explore our bodies and everything in our immediate environment. Through this interaction our intelligence develops and expands. As this process proceeds, our parents or those around us, gave us messages about what was good to interact with and what wasn't. When the object of attraction was a fire or a moving truck in the street, strong negative messages were appropriate - our survival depended on such messages. What was particularly inappropriate at this point in our development however, was that many of us received equally negative messages about certain parts of our own body. These body parts of course had nothing to do with survival issues.
"The body was giving us strong messages of pleasure, while our parents were giving us messages of negativity. Because of these conflicting signals our genitals became a source of confusion. The brain-mind system at this stage of development is simply unable to compute such ambiguity. The brain pattern imprints concerning our sexuality and physical pleasure became ones of stress and anxiety. The wedge that was driven between mind and body at our birth, is now driven even deeper. Not only are we left unbonded with our mother, we are now methodically being prevented from bonding or deeply connecting with our own body.
"Physical stimulation of the pleasure centers in the body are a natural part of human development, whereby the pleasure circuits between the genitals and the brain are activated and developed. This neurological integration facilitates our capacity for pleasure. It is an essential part of our genetic programming. Being a powerful interaction between the body and mind, pleasure actually stimulates neurological growth and the development of intelligence. But once again, our cultural programs have attempted to override this natural process. Our belief systems are part of a mythology of conquest, not of cooperation. The way of Nature is seen as chaos, confusion and death. We have been taught that human beings are here to conquer, control and dominate Nature and thereby transcend Nature.
"In this context then, pleasure is perceived as terribly threatening. It is seen as giving in to Nature, and ultimately leads to the loss of control. In the New Testament, we find in a letter written by Paul to the Galatians a clear statement of this polarization: "The flesh lusts against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other". Galatians 5:17
"If sexual attitudes are repeatedly associated with fear, guilt, and punishment, then sex quite naturally becomes a source of unhappiness, dis-ease and problematic relationships. On the other hand, if our sexual attitudes embrace the cultural values which have a positive interpretation of the Natural World, then sex becomes associated with trust, affection, tenderness and sensitivity towards others. Our biological integrity is maintained, and even strengthened through our sexual expressions.
"The compulsive obsession of our culture to compete, dominate and control, are all symptoms of human beings lacking personal power and the inability to engage in relationship. Sex is entered into from a sense of separation, not out of a sense of connectedness. The symptoms of such a pathological condition are alienation, repression, guilt and violence. This condition is becoming more obvious in every segment of our lives, as the culture begins to manifest some of the more advanced stages of its disease. And probably in no other area of our lives is this negative conditioning more obvious, than in the relationship between men and women.
"As our patriarchal culture plays out its mythologies on the world stage, individuals have become overwhelmed, hypnotized as it were, by the constant barrage of symbols, signals and messages. Just as our culture's ideologies have influenced the manner in which we were brought into this world, and helped shape our attitudes about our body and our sexuality, they've also had a tremendous impact on the relationship between men and women.
"The widespread problems we are experiencing throughout our society regarding the relationship between the sexes represent the bitter fruit of seeds planted long ago. If we examine this problem from a historical perspective, we can gain much needed insight into some of the dysfunctional programs that have been running for the last several thousand years.
"Currently, there are a number of religious groups around the country preaching about a rather abstract subject they call "family values". If we explore some of the sources for their beliefs and ideas, we find a value system reflecting the patriarchy's myth of relationship, in which the intimate bond between men and women is actually devalued and attacked.
"If we begin our examination of some of these ideologies in the context of Christianity, the apostle Paul in his letter to the Corinthians boldly declares "It is good for a man not to touch a woman." I Corn. 7:1. He tries to soften the blow by explaining, that if an individual is unable to live up to this elevated standard of "goodness", then it is better to go ahead and get married, rather than to live in a state of perpetual sin. However the message is quite clear, if a person is serious about loving God, human relationships are to be somehow transcended, especially the relationship between men and women.
"Like an undercurrent of polluted water, this concept has poisoned the well of human relationships down through the centuries. For hundreds of years, anyone who even suggested that people living as husband and wife might be more blessed then those who were celibate, could be excommunicated. The earliest Christian marriages were performed outside the church building, in order to keep the church free from any moral pollution associated with the marriage ritual.
"All the Church fathers preached a sermon of negativity when it came to the relationship between the sexes. St Jerome said that: "every man who loves his wife passionately is guilty of adultery." The explanation being, that one should only love God passionately. St Ambrose said: "marriage was a crime against God, because it changed the state of virginity that God gave every man and woman at birth. Tertullian claimed that marriage was "more dreadful than any punishment or any death."
"As strange as it may seem, for over one thousand years the Christian Church did not recognize marriages in Cannon Law. It wasn't until the year 1215 at the Fourth Lateran Council that marriage was granted any legal status. Furthermore there was no Christian sacrament of matrimony until the 16th century.
"During the Middle Ages, the Christian Church published some clear guidelines concerning the relationship between a husband and his wife, called the Rules of Marriage. Within these guidelines, we find explicit instruction to the Christian husband who at one time or another, might find himself with a disobedient wife:
"Scold her sharply, bully and terrify her. And if this still does not work...take up a stick and beat her soundly, for it is better to punish the body and correct the soul than to damage the soul and spare the body...Then readily beat her, not in rage but out of charity and concern for her soul, so that the beating will be to your merit."(46)
"As astounding as this may seem, this document was not some isolated work by a small group of sadistic old men, but generally reflected the prevailing values of the culture at large. Not only were these attitudes widespread, but they literally spanned the centuries.
"In the 18th century, both English and American law established guidelines for marital disagreements based on Sir William Blackstone's famous "Rule of Thumb":
"in order to enforce the solitary restraints of domestic discipline," a husband was legally free to beat his wife, but the rod was to be no thicker than his thumb.(47)
"At the same time, the Anglican Church supported such brutality by officially declaring: "Women are intrinsically inferior in excellence, imbecile by sex and nature, weak in body, inconstant in mind, and imperfect and infirm in character."(48)
"With this prevailing attitude, a husband's right to discipline his wife was not even questioned. And certainly she had no legal recourse. A man's house was his castle, and the "sanctity of the home" could not be breached by the courts.
"This journey in consciousness is not without a direction or purpose. Like a morning glory breaking through a sidewalk seeking sunlight, a New Perspective has broken through the dominant mythologies of our culture and into our collective consciousness, and the world hasn't been the same since. It's as if a door in the unconscious mind opened after being closed for thousands of years, and all at once there She was - The Goddess.
"Whether we choose to interpret The Goddess in terms of a Female Deity, or as a personification for the anima - the interior feminine aspect of every human being, or as a metaphor for the characteristics of instinctual and intuitive wisdom, nonetheless the presence of the Feminine within the collective consciousness can no longer be denied or ignored.
"We can also recognize this breakthrough in consciousness by following a distinctive trail of ideas and beliefs, which were once part of the culture of the Goddess, so many millennia ago. For if we look back at the events of the 1960's, something absolutely extraordinary is revealed. The gestation period for a large number of historical movements ended and collectively we experienced a tremendous birthing process. For in just a relatively short time, a whole list of events and movements broke into our collective consciousness during the 60's:The Women's Movement; The Civil Right's Movement; The Peace Movement (which did in fact stop the Vietnam War); The American Indian Movement; The Environmental Movement; The Neo-Pagan Movement; The Natural Foods Movement; The Home Birth Movement; The Sexual Revolution (when people began to take off their religious straight-jackets and more freely express their sexuality); and the birth of a subculture: rock'n'roll, long hair, psychoactive drugs, wild and colorful clothes and experiments in communal living.
"We are living at a time on the Earth, unlike any other that has gone before. The Culture of the Goddess that had been driven underground thousands of years ago, has re-emerged to open up a whole new horizon of future possibilities. To those who fearfully hold onto the patriarchal ideas of conquest, exploitation and competition, truly it will be the end of their world. But those who are able to see beyond the old patriarchal programming and mythologies, and embrace The Feminine Values of empowerment, partnership and cooperation, for them - a whole new day is beginning to dawn.
www.kamakala.com/vamacara.htm <<<<< Vamacara Tantra
"For the past 5,000 years, human beings have been on a journey in consciousness which elevated the masculine over the feminine, the intellectual over the intuitive and instinctual dimensions of our being. We have structured our cultures with an emphasis on competition and conquest, rather than cooperation. We have collectively formed a reality in which only the transcendental qualities of consciousness are valued, while the inherent spiritual values of the Natural World have been depreciated and almost forgotten entirely.
"Just as the cells of our body are set to the rhythms of the rising and setting sun, our mind is set to the cycle of our birth and death. But within that framework there exists strata of consciousness, aware of our continuity beyond the confines of time and space. And all our myths and religions attempt to translate that reality into a temporal and rational story.
As early as 30,000 B.C.E. human beings no longer applied their creative energies solely for survival, but applied their tools to carve stone, ivory and bone. Archaeologists have discovered thousands of engravings, reliefs and sculptures across a vast expanse of land stretching from the Pyrenees in Spain to Lake Baikal in Siberia, all images of the Mother Goddess.
On these early Goddess images are various signs and symbols: lines; triangles; zig-zags; circles and spirals. And many of these images have been found stained with red ochre.
At first archaeologists and anthropologists really didn't know what to make of all this. They were at a loss as to how these images and symbols fit in with their current picture of early human development. So they more or less dismissed them as some kind of fetishes related to the erotic. On the other hand, because most of the images were naked, with large breasts, protruding buttocks and pregnant belly, they also interpreted these images to be nothing more than primitive man's projections of human fertility.
It is interesting to notice, that most all of these early archaeologists and anthropologists were men. It wasn't until much later, when an increasing number of women began to enter the field that more serious evaluations were entertained. They began to see these images and symbols in an entirely different light, not as the crude, naturalistic representations of the erotic as formerly thought, but as the symbolic language of the organic and generative process of Nature. It is now commonly understood, these carvings represent the first human attempts to creatively express the great mysteries of birth and sustenance. And quite naturally, at the very center of these mysteries is the Female.
We have to step out of our twentieth century programming, and move back in time and consciousness well before any written history began, back before writing and the wheel were invented, back to a time perhaps when humans were first learning to speak. It is here, that we find ourselves in a world where the Female embodies the mysterious and miraculous powers of Nature. The biological functions of the female body were seen as manifestations of the sacred and magical powers of some greater reality.
What more profound miracle were these people to witness, than the process where one of their own kind came forth from the Female body? The Female was, in the most observable way, the natural mediator between worlds, between the spiritual and the physical dimensions of Life. Through her the invisible suddenly becomes visible. The unmanifest becomes manifest. That which was released at death, now finds a new home in flesh and blood.
Those of you who have participated in or witnessed this awe inspiring event, can begin to appreciate the impact it had on our early ancestors. Their numbers were very small, and life sometimes hung in the balance by a thread. A birth represented in practical terms, the very survival of the new species. And appropriately it was seen as a mysterious and sacred event
Another manifestation of this magical power of the Female, was that from her own body came the food to keep the young alive. She not only brought forth new life, but she became the very source of life-giving nourishment as well.
Given the natural associations between the Female and the living processes of the Earth, it's not surprising then to find these aspects of life-giving prominently displayed in the images of the Female form. For a span of over thirty thousand years, these statues were kept on household altars, in the fields and all places of communal activities.
These primordial images speak to us of a perception of the World as organic and whole. They represent a reality where Spirit and Nature were united, and therefore always manifesting the mysterious and the sacred. Everything was interconnected, woven together in a life-giving, nourishing and regenerating universal form - The Goddess.
One of the earliest and most used symbols for the sacred powers of the Goddess was the vulva.(3) This symbol has been found from Spain to Siberia to India, marking special places of power. It has been found to have seeds and sprouts drawn over or beside it, representing the primal source of Life. The image of the vulva has also been found with indications of rippling movements of water issuing from it, symbolizing the nourishing waters of Life.
At the entrance of many caves - the most sacred places of our early ancestors, the sign of the vulva was carved to indicate the sanctuary of the Great Mother, and the source of her regenerative powers. Caves were seen as the womb of the Mother, a place of not only protection, but a place of initiation where the bond with the Mother was renewed. It was also a place where the individual was returned in death, to be regenerated and reborn.
The vulva has been used as a sacred symbol to indicate a wide range of life-affirming concepts and perceptions for over 30,000 years. And what is truly amazing, is that it is still being used in this context today. From one end of India to the other, one is still able to see this sacred symbol used in its original context in numerous temples.
The concept of the temple itself, evolved as an extension of the primordial womb-cave of the Mother Earth: the two pillars of the front entrance representing the upraised legs; the doorway - the vaginal entrance. The sacrifice was made with the shedding of sacred blood. This blood which contained the powers of Life and regeneration, was then shared by the people as a sacrament. Sometimes the initiates were literally drenched in the sacrificial blood of an animal.
The Culture of the Goddess >>>>> The Culture of the Goddess
In the ancient and almost universal culture that we have been examining in detail, women didn't dominate men as in the later societies, where men had absolute power over women. We do not find any indications of a pyramid social structure, or hierarchy dominated by a woman or a group of women who gathered most of the wealth and power for themselves, leaving the rest of the society fighting over the crumbs, as we repeatedly find in the later societies ruled exclusively by male hierarchies. Rather, we find cooperative communities where the primary ethic was based on sharing, the sharing of food, natural resources and work. By every indication these early communities sought to live in harmony with the organic and cyclic processes of Nature, rather than to dominate or exploit their environment, a process that begins to be so typical in the later Bronze Age developments.
One other feature that was conspicuously absent from these early communities, is any sign of violence. We find in their extensive artwork no indication of any symbols of domination - spears, swords, or thunderbolts that we find in later societies, where the ruler or deity demands obedience under the threat of killing or violence. Rather the emphasis was on bonding, reinforcing the primal connection with the Source of Life and the cooperation between all Life forms.
We are not looking at some isolated region where one or two tribal societies lived peacefully for a couple of centuries and then mysteriously disappeared. But rather we are examining a continuous culture of shared beliefs and customs that spread out over the Earth in a vast expanse, and lasted for over 30,000 years. Because of this fact, we are literally forced to reevaluate our current ideas about civilization, culture and the nature of human societies.
In this Cosmology all Life was seen to be born from the darkness of the Earth and proceeded toward the Heavens, to ascend toward the stars, the realm of the ancestors. As a symbol then, the tree was seen as a cosmic bridge between the worlds: the Underworld, the Earth, and the Sky. And the serpent was perceived to be the one creature to be able to cross this bridge at will and make its home in all three realms.
The serpent then, entwined around the Cosmic Tree of Life became a universal image with many levels of meaning. In the most general terms perhaps, we find in this symbol the energy of the Earth, the dynamic self-renewing life-force, rising up and embracing the Celestial realms, the invisible and transcendental dimensions of Life. The Earth and the Heavens are here perceived to be united through the organic processes of Life-Energy. Spirit and Nature are recognized as a unified field in which the creative energies of the Universe ebb and flow in a continuous process of transformation.
In order for the Male leader to carry out these responsibilities of rulership, he first had to receive the blessings and power of the Goddess. It was still clearly understood, of his own nature, the king could not assume such a responsibility or function.
The high priestess or the queen, was now regarded as the incarnation of the Goddess on Earth. And through sexual union with her, the king gained the necessary power and right to rulership and ensured the continuity of the ever flowing abundance of the Goddess on Earth
The union between the God and Goddess, the king and queen, became known as the Heiros Gamos or Sacred Marriage. The Sacred Marriage was to become the most important religious ritual ever to evolve out of the 30,000 year old culture of the Goddess. The union of the God/king and the Goddess/queen was seen as the marriage between Heaven and Earth: the union of the transcendental or invisible realities beyond birth and death, with the visibly manifest cycles of the Natural World. And through this sacred union, the fertility and abundance of the Earth was regenerated. Just as the Earth awaited the regenerating waters of Heaven to bring it to life, the union of the king and queen was perceived to renew the fruitfulness of the womb, the abundance of the community and the fertility of the land.
The Sacred Marriage was celebrated in the Spring, when Life appeared to be miraculously resurrected. This was the beginning of the New Year. It also happens to be the true origin of the most celebrated of Christian Holy Days: Easter.
The word "Easter" is derived from the Babylonian name of the Goddess Ishtar, the Greeks called her Astarte, the Germans, Oster. Surprisingly, this ancient festival is still being calculated by the same means today, as it was some 5,000 years ago. It is found by using the first full moon after the spring equinox.
Traditionally, this was the time when the long absent God had returned from the womb of the Underworld and the darkness of Winter. The new plants were beginning to break ground and show themselves to the sun, now also gaining in strength. The Moon was pregnant in her fullness, and all of Nature was awakening once again, resurrected from apparent death.
Within the ancient temples there was a special room, the Holy of Holies. It was the bridal chamber where the Sacred Marriage was to take place. In preparation the temple was filled with an abundance of food and drink. Red colored eggs were distributed as symbols of fertility and rebirth.
In the presence of the whole community, the God/king was sexually united with the Goddess/queen. The king was anointed with her life-bestowing waters and thereby infused with the creative energy pouring itself through all things. Sexual ecstasy was seen as the highest sacrament, a direct participation in the mysterious power of the Divine Creative Process.
Through this ecstatic union new life was assured, abundance restored, and well being was enjoyed. The whole community participated in this sacramental ritual. Through the Sacred Marriage they all shared in the creative power and blessings of the Goddess.
This was the high tide of the sacred annual cycle. It was the religious and cultural reflection of Nature's power of regeneration, renewal and rebirth, and it spoke to each individual, biologically as well as spiritually. Through the act of sexual intercourse it was believed that one not only participated in that mysterious act of bringing new life into the world, but that one was actually engaged in a sacramental ritual which allowed the grace or creative power of the Divine to manifest more abundantly through one's life.
The concrete and immediate evidence of this Divine blessing was the experience of pleasure and ecstasy of the union itself. It was believed that through this act, not only was one uniting with one's partner, but that one was also consciously entering back into that primary bond with the Earth, with Nature and with the Divine.
This one fact, perhaps more than any other, holds the key to the entire metaphysical and religious structure of the Goddess culture. And if we can somehow gain this understanding, we will be able to unlock many long locked doors to our understanding not only of their spiritual lives, but ours as well.
The first physical evidence we have of the Sacred Marriage, was a statue found in the Catal Huyuk dated from around 5,750 B.C.E.. From this date, gradually the evidence becomes more prolific and widespread, until around 3,000 B.C.E. we have numerous artifacts covering a vast expanse of the globe.
But what is particularly important about the evidence we find from 3,000 B.C.E. on, is the fact that in the Sumerian cities in the valley of the Tigris and Euphrates, people actually began to write down their religious beliefs. Archaeologists have uncovered, literally tens of thousands of inscribed clay tablets.
By no means have all of these tablets been translated. But from what has been translated so far, these people had a rich and mature literature consisting of epic tales, hymns, proverbs, fables and essays. What is particularly significant about this, is that all these writings existed well before the Aryan Vedas, and at least a thousand years before the Bible or Homer's Odyssey.
Among these early Sumerian writings is a story related to the Sacred Marriage. This is a beautiful story of the relationship between the Goddess Innana and her lover Dumuzi. Here for the first time, we are able get an actual glimpse of sexuality expressed in a spiritual setting. Inanna addresses her lover:
"Bridegroom, dear to my heart,
Goodly is your beauty, honey sweet.
Lion, dear to my heart,
Goodly is by your beauty, honey sweet.
You have captivated me, let me stand
trembling before you,
Bridegroom, I would be taken by you to
the bed chamber,
You have captivated me, let me stand
trembling before you,
Lion, I would be taken by you to the
bed chamber.
Bridegroom, let me caress you,
My precious caress is more savory than honey,
In the bed chamber, honey filled,
Let us enjoy your goodly beauty,
Lion, let me caress you.
My precious caress
Is more savory than honey."
Surprisingly, a very similar story can be found of all places, in the middle of the Bible. This work has been attributed to Solomon, but there's very little doubt it is actually far older than the time of Solomon. It uses many expressions and symbols of the earlier Babylonian and Sumerian writings. It has been called the "Canticle of Canticles", or "Song of Songs".
Archeologists have discovered from writings such as these and numerous artifacts, the ritual of the Sacred Marriage was celebrated for thousands of years in many countries. It eventually became the religious focus of not only the civilizations of Mesopotamia, but of Egypt, Crete, Anatolia, as well as of the Dravidian civilization in the Indus valley, with their great cities of Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa.
The Sacred Marriage became the point of fusion of many different currents of associated symbols and beliefs. In doing so, it became the most powerful and profound symbol in the entire spectrum of human consciousness.
Over time, the Sacred Marriage evolved and gradually became institutionalized with numerous symbols, some of which remain to this very day. In temples throughout India, some of the most sacred objects are erect stones symbolizing the phallus of God, and circular stones with hollow centers, represent the vagina of the Goddess. Together, these stones symbolize the Divine Male and Female creative energies that conceive and sustain the universe.
This concept is far older than any of the later Gods and Goddesses of the Aryans or Indo-Europeans. We know this for a fact, because in the earliest writing of the Aryan invaders, the Rig-Veda, the darker skinned aboriginal peoples were derogatorily referred to as "those whose god is the phallus". Rig-Veda 7.21.5. This was written sometime around 2,000 B.C.E. to 1,500 B.C.E..
Amazingly, some 4,000 years later we find many of these people still, much to the discomfort of those more "enlightened' around them, worshipping in exactly the same way as their ancestors did.
The culture of the Goddess flourished in India and produced some of the most amazing and unique temples to be found anywhere on Earth. These temples were dedicated to the creative energies of the Male and Female in a spectacular display of sexual expressions. One can see elaborate carvings on the exterior of some of the temples, and witness an array of sexual attitudes and positions that are truly wonderful. The people of this early culture saw nothing but beauty, pleasure and power in all expressions of human sexuality, and this message is definitely revealed in their art.
The culture and traditions from this period held that any individual of the community could come to the temple and participate in the sacrament of the Sacred Marriage; to participate in the sexual union of the God and Goddess, and thereby become blessed, empowered, healed or made more whole.
In Greece, this practice was called Hierodouleia, meaning: "sacred service". And the women that offered this "sacred service" in the temple was called a Hierodule, or "sacred servant". This special individual represented the Goddess, or was believed to incarnate the power of the Feminine Principle.
Anyone who came to the temple would approach the Hierodule in this spiritual or sacramental context. For it was further believed that if one sexually engaged with the Hierodule, one would actually be uniting with the Divine Herself.(23)
It is most relevant here to understand that the original meaning to the word "prostitute" was: "to stand on behalf of". The individual in this role "stood on behalf of" the Goddess. To serve in the temple in this capacity was considered the most sacred act of service and self-giving that one could perform. In many cultures, it took years of preparation and training to serve in the temple.

Re: sexgenderconsciousness
Tue, June 20, 2006 - 11:08 PMnice post Daniel... thank you.
and as always.. thank you for writing your book. though i haven't read it yet cause i don't seek out books rather books seek me out., i really appreciate you and words.
first i'll jump in on what caught rebecca's attention. finding peace, happiness and liberation in any relationship requires total transparency. i like to call this "telling the microspopic truth" and this applies as much to what is not said as to what is said.
and touching on your reference to rajneesh i'd like to elaborate. our soul in manifestation must go though four different stages of sexuality in our lives and lifetimes. often we spend our whole lives in one stage.... other times we go through two or three and sometimes we experience all four in one life time of experience.
the first stage is 'autosexual'. this starts as a child and is where many remain for their lifetime/s. in short this is sex with ourselves or masterbation. because so many of us experience a negative reaction from adults near us... we suppress this natural stage and thus often remain at this stage regardless of our intimacy with others... meaning we are in fact getting ourselves off even when with another.
the second stage is homosexuality. after experiencing total sexuality withourselves we are by nature more comfortable and curious about others who are like ourselves. often this stage is also repressed due to social illusion and misunderstanding.
the third stage is heterosexuality. this is true interest in the opposite pole or that which is most different from us. this comes after we have achieved total experience in the first two stages.
the fourth stage is what is called brahmacharya and is when we have discovered the opposite within ourselves and are able to create an energetic loop without the need for another.
polyamory or polygamy is a lifestyle and though they can, they very rarely are conducive to trancending our sexual karma. one on one relationships provide the most stable means to learning what lessons need be learned and thus push us quicker and farther up the ladder toward our goal which is liberation, peace and happiness.
and i'd like to add that yeS... true Love is unconditional Love and that means allowing our partners total freedom to explore what they need to in order to trancend their own sexual stage.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Wed, June 21, 2006 - 9:09 AMConcepts of sex, gender, and consciousness have been intertwined for a long time. Some of you may be familiar with the work of Harry Benjamin, whose 1971 book "Basic Self-Knowledge" drew upon the teachings of Gurdjieff and the Fourth Way tradition. He was also an expert on the issue of life extension, he himself living to the age of 100. Benjamin was a scientist and monogamist (he was happily married to his wife Gretchen for 60 years). However, he was a radical visionary and pioneer in gender studies, publishing "The Transsexual Phenomenon," the first major book on the treatment of transsexuals, in 1966.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Benjamin
One of Harry Benjamin's patients and early associates was Reed Erickson, who through his Erickson Educational Foundation funded research by Robert Masters and Jean Houston (authors of "The Varieties of Psychedelic Experience"), Stanley Krippner www.stanleykrippner.com (author of "Becoming Psychic: Spiritual Lessons for Focusing Your Hidden Abilities"), John Lilly, and other work on entheogens, psi research, and altered states of consciousness. Sadly, Erickson died in Mexico (in a mansion he called the "Love Joy Palace") as an addict and fugitive:

Needless to say, there are some fascinating links in the histories of transsexuality and entheogens. These are hardly accidental and seem consistent with Daniel's current hypothesis "that the realization of a fully conscious and scrupulously attentive sexual (or better, sexual/spiritual) liberation is necessary for the continuation of the human species).

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Wed, June 21, 2006 - 11:13 AMHi Daniel: I'm very glad you have chosen to discuss this topic. I wrote a response yesterday on BOTH about my "male orgasm and linear time" post but I wasn't logged in so it disappeared! This is better.
Anyway I've read Paul Theroux as well and am glad you got to meet him. I read his "best of" travel works and especially like his Tibet travel experiences. He stayed in a run-down hotel that was completely flithy and the residents shat on the floor while eating huge chunks of meat torn straight from the animals!! Not exactly the Hollywood version of Tibet.
In fact in my academic research I've found it argued that the true meditation masters in Tibet are the wild tantric hermits who are not part of any monasteries.
Peter Mathiessen encountered one such wild hermit in Nepal -- the hermit attacked anyone who came nearby and the sherpas stated that was the hermit's dharma.
I read about a mountain in India that is devoted to Tantra and everyone is scared to climb it since the tantriks are so wild and dangerous. A couple months ago there was a news report in India about child sacrifice by tantrics.
Sure these are isolated reports and professor Hugh B. Urban is doing much to dispel the westernized myths about tantra. It's not "nuggie nirvana" as Urban jokes in his new review of Professor David Gordon White's latest tantra book "kiss of the yogini."
In fact I strongly recommend you to take a sharp veer from western metaphysics (steiner, evola, Osho, etc.). The West has never had yoga and so the west does not understand how to sublimate sexual energy.
Now immediately everyone will say that's crazy! But guess what people are deeply racist in the West.
If you want a good Eastern expose on Osho read "Karma Cola" by M. Gehta. That book is a must-read expose on the whole esotourism trend started in the 1960s in India. Let's just say that the Osho commune in India had close ties with the U.S. State department since they regularly shipped Osho students back to the U.S. into mental hospitals.
Considering that Jonestown was CIA and the CIA infiltrated UFO cults (Heaven's Gate) and most likely the John Africa movement in Philadelphia -- I wouldn't be surprised if Osho had similar ties.
Here's the books I recommend: "Taost Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality" trans. by Charles Luk. This is a hardcore tantra book based on "the single path" using "the small universe" technique. I got to chapter six in this book in terms of practice but it was such a radical transformation causing extreme reactions in those around me that I stopped practicing and did more research.
That practicing was my final self-directed research for my masters degree so I could devote all my time to sublimating my sexual energy. I was only working some 10 hours a week, had access to excellent food, a relatively quiet space and most importantly I was naive and innocent!!
That was six years ago and since then I've read one scholarly book a day in an attempt to process my training!
I received energy transmissions from a Chinese yoga master -- Chunyi Lin -- who was just featured on the most watched evening news show in the U.S. -- an L.A. program. He teaches at springforestqigong.com and there is a forum of his students at learningstrategies.com
Anyway the first books I read after electromagnetic fields filled my body and I needed no water for 7 days and I healed my mom of a serious disability and I accidently pulled the spirit of out someone's head -- those books were
Master Nan, Huai-chin, a yoga master and professor in Taiwan. Master Nan, Huai-chin is a best-seller in Asia and is published by Samuel Weiser but remains almost totally unknown in Western "spiritual" circles. He's promoted by a Buddhist academic program at a NY university but Master Nan is by no means just "buddhist."
People in the West think they understand Zen because of Alan Watts, Paul Brunton, Suzuki, etc. but Master Nan details how even Japan lost the meaning of yoga training because it became too focused on conceptual thinking. Zen is from Chan (China) which is from India.
Master Nan, Huai-chin has about 4 books published in English and I had to read them each three times just for their teachings to sink in. It's very much focused on the body and the necessary steps that are needed to sublimate sexual energy.
People think that "retention" is good enough but the electro-chemical heat (the Jing) of the hormones needs to be transfomed into electromagnetic fields (Chi) which then turns into aura light for spacetime travel (the Shen).
This is all based on ratio theory, as detailed in "Taoist Yoga" -- from music theory! The easiest way to start this training is "the small universe" practice. Mantak Chia has a good introduction book that describes peope's experience with the small universe practice aka "the microcosmic orbit." Mantak Chia recommends people have no sex for the first three months of practice and the trick is that if you are successful in sublimated the sex energy then sex has no real appeal anymore -- it's not nearly as blissful as the pineal gland energy.
The oldest modern human culture, the Koi-San, call this electro-chemical heat, the N/um or boiling energy. It's very hard to control this energy at first and it's also very rare in the West.
What happens in the West is that we eat lots of meat which creates the heat but then we use that energy for sex. Simple as that -- only that our sexual energy comes from the kidneys which then get over-worked and you see guys with gray hair while in their thirties!!
It's common knowledge is West Asia that too much sex causes baldness but this is TABOO in the West. It's supposed to be sophisticated to think that sex does not cause damage to health -- this is a lie -- and the latest research connects loss of serotonin to masterbation.
The problem again is no yoga so no real sublimation. People think repression leads to crime and Freud taught that work enabled sublimation (well he couldn't do it so smoked cigars incessantly while having his daughter cling to his side).
Jung was on the right track but the closest he got to the East was "Turning the light around" -- a technique of mind yoga only from secrets of the golden flower.
China has a specific medical condition for being over-sexed in their traditional medicine.
So for the Koi-San every time they went hunting they spent three days without any contact with females then once a week, after the meat is distributed to the women, there is an all night trance-dance around a fire. The fire helps create the boiling energy and the dancing causes the heat or N/um to rise up the spine which then transforms into electromagnetic fields. The electromagnetic field then turns into light called X/ia! This Xia (sp.?) state enables them to see spirit lights and light blockages in other people.
The dancers then go around removing the blockages, transmitted electromagnetic energy, and helping more people achieve the Xia state. But if they go too deeply into Xia then their spirit leaves their body and travels to outerspace!
The women stop this because the men are supposed to be healing not drifting off into outerspace although this skill is considered very strong. Also the visions are used to see into great distances to have safety from lions and to see the prey for hunting.
This is described in the recent academic book "Women Like Meat." Dr. Richard Katz' work gives the best details while the book "The Harmless People" is excellent and Dr. Bradford Keeney's recent "Bushman Shaman" is the latest.
Suffice it to say that the Koi-San culture has been decimated and this traditional healing is rare indeed.
In fact Master Nan, Huai-chin emphasizes that most people in Asia who try to sublimate their sexual energy to create chi end up "falling back into a worldly state."
Master Nan also emphasizes that people who do transform their sexual energy get angry very easily.
See the intention to do this is kidney energy (the internal reproductive organs) but the opposite of intention is fear.
The kidney energy (as testosterone turned into adrenaline) then transforms the Liver energy (anger) into wisdom. People who drink too much damage their liver and that's why they get angry so easily. (Lungs is depression (that's why smokers get sad too easily).
So it's easy to get angry a lot while this transformation is taking place. Then the liver energy opens up the heart energy as Love but what happens is that the opposite of love is blissful excitement.
People get really attached to the blissful excitement (since serotonin has to turn into melatonin and then into DMT).
When people use up the blissful excitement then they get angry and then get fearful (a fall back into worldliness).
Only once the third eye is fully open (i.e. the pineal gland has been turned into a liquid crystal state which activates the photo-receptors in the eyes) then is blissful transformation of the brain permanent.
At that point the person can do long distance healing simply by focusing the mind and opening up the body channels so that strong electromagnetic fields power the healing information (the holographic light) into the target of their intention.
The only way to really know this is possible is that the person can sit in full-lotus with the feet over the thighs, by the stomach, for at least two hours straight -- not only in comlete comfort but with the body full of electromagnetic power.
Now here people say no way that's not necessary! That's elitist, etc.
No elitism is all the fake Western "magic." As Master Nan emphasizes the body must be transformed before samadhi is achieved.
No one can fake the full-lotus so don't waste your time with someone who can not do this.
As I stated I spent a week sitting in full-lotus almost the whole time. I was never hungry, only took a couple sips of water (my brain created water which flowed freely down the roof of my mouth -- a well-known result of alchemy called the ambrosia) and as the week ended I only needed 5 hours of sleep.
Master Chunyi Lin has gone 28 days like this in a cave in China.
Now the problem was that I told people this and they freaked out. Also I had people reacting to the strong electromagnetic fields shooting out from around me. Without me telling them what I had done I got such a response "what are you doing to me!" even though I was a good six feet away and this subject was not being talked about.
As I said I did heal me mom (without touching her) of a significant case of smoker's legs. The person who helped me do this is teaching the Mayo Clinic doctors -- Master Chunyi Lin.
Also I accidently pulled someone's spirit out of their head. They were an old, frail female and I put my hands close to the top center of their skull -- something I was taught not to do. I never touched her, she could not see my face and yet I felt her spirit fly out of her body. The same time I felt that she began bawling and cried non-stop for at least 15 minutes. We never talked and she walked off being comforted by others. I saw her later and she held no bad feelings because we both had understood what had happened.
Then when I sat in full-lotus the room would spin around me with strong electromagnetic fields. This freaked me out but then I read in Dr. Peter Kingsley's work that in shamanic Greece this was considered the necessary step to entering samadhi.
I also had telekinesis and telepathy.
But as I stated I stopped practicing because I wanted to "understand" what was happening.
The important part is that there is consciousness beyond spacetime which can transform all matter into energy. Master Lin then shot energy into the middle of my brain so that I experience bliss all the time and just need to focus to recenter my energy. My third eye is half-open. I could see white light auras and even spirits traveling through the air when I had practiced more.
Once this is really experienced then it's quickly easy to understand why tantra is so wild.
I began dumpster-diving and eating rotten food because I knew I could transform it through yoga.
Once the flu tried to strike me -- I let the symptoms build (nausea, sore throat, shaking, aching muscles, fever, cold, etc.)
I let the symptoms build for an hour then I just sat in full-lotus (in the library) while reading some books. Then I had to walk home three miles in 10 degrees F. weather. I then sat in full lotus for a few hours while listening to Pacifica news.
By 6 a.m. all the symptoms were 90% gone and by noon it was as if I had never had those symptoms even though originally they had been strong enough to put anyone else out of commission for 2 to 3 days.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Wed, June 21, 2006 - 11:46 AMThis sort of reminds me of a topic that pops up in other tribes and on Nature's First Law... whether or not to shampoo. And it seems some people have fine hair that gets very greasy without shampoo. Or at least they seem to have a pretty good result from shampooing, and their hair comes out enough like the shampoo models' for them to not foment rebellion. And other people, with coarser, curlier, more willful hair are quite certain shampooing is destructive, makes their hair big, unruly, apt to eat anything that gets in eats way. Saponification may indeed be the end of the unverse as we know it, they say. And this comes up all the time, because some people are needing to make and adjustment, and they are not nor will ever be Breck girls.
If you're at a point where you're looking back and you realize you flubbed it early on, and the women screwed you over, and you want a redo, that might well be appropriate for you. And you brought up some sexual abuse, and that's kind of a serious thing to be coming to grips with. I suppose repurposing sexuality is a conversation that keeps coming up because some people don't feel like the flowy haired breck girl equivalent of whatever the ad was that we all got brainwashed with about sex. I know it was supposed to be something perfect and blonde, too, I think. -

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Wed, June 21, 2006 - 3:18 PMthis thread is fun so far.
light: "and because it is easier for a woman to lose power in a sexual relationship
(i promise to follow this up...) "
please follow this up.
Also very interested in your substitution of "spiritual awakening" for "sexual awakening" in the Reich quote, and would be curious to hear how you define the misuse of feminine sexual power. I see that the feminine "will to power" is often operative in the sphere of relationships, and destructive because it is not brought to consciousness and examined. I agree with Jung's concept that once the unconscious process is articulated, it catalyzes the necessity for the unconscious to change.
ken wilber has an essay in which he proposes that the process of spiritual evolution in men and women follows different paths: men tend to be oriented toward "justice," while women tend to be oriented toward "caring." At lower levels this manifests more personally and then becomes more universal as evolution proceeds. Men move toward "universal justice" and women move toward "universal caring," through the spiralling stages that Wilber defines.
Wilber argues that this process works differently for men and women, on average. He suggests that just as with IQ, men tend to range more widely across the scale - more geniuses and more idiots - the same is true of this development, so that among men you find more sociopathic monsters and more Gandhis. He proposes that it is actually more difficult for women to attain the higher levels of spiritual development because it tends to be a more deeply embodied process for them - often spiritual transformation involves very difficult and painful physical transformation (think St Theresa). This seems to correspond to what i have noticed, anecdotally and through my own observations. (I describe the kundalini awakening of my teacher in "2012", for instance).
I think there are a lot of practical consequences in these differences.
One way I theorize about what is happening right now with men and women - once again, based on personal observation - is that male blockages tend to center around the second chakra, while women are struggling with issues around the throat chakra - creativity and communication. Many of the women I know seem to be seeking their creative voice, and finding that the forms defined by our patriarchal culture do not fit their creative expressions and intuitions. It is as if some new form of creative expression is trying to be born - one that does not fit the static economic structures of our system.
I am also interested in ideas from David Deida's work that define the masculine principle as "direction" and the feminine principle as "power." This suggests disciplines such as the tango, where the male's primary function is to lead and direct shakti energy. I am, however, put off by a kind of closed quality to Deida's concepts (perhaps a certain old-fashioned machismo). He argues that men need to deal with the feminine as it is (for instance, accepting female moods and emotional shifts without trying to analyze or change them), rather than considering the possibility that an evolution of consciousness is taking place that will change the dynamic in these areas, and that we can aid this evolutionary process by holding space for it and encouraging it.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Thu, June 22, 2006 - 7:54 AMDaniel -- a couple days ago I was reading Richard Katz' anthropology book "Boiling Energy" on the Koi-San (the oldest modern human culture). Katz states that the Koi-San used drugs for spiritual healing but only rarely and mainly the women used the drugs. Also the drugs used enabled a gradual transistion to an altered state of consciousness.
Wade Davis points this out -- in Africa there is less use of drugs for spirituality. The efficacy of drugs is based on natural resonance -- just as dance and music can lead to the same spiritual power.
Look Daniel Ken Wilber is racist. I discuss this at length in my masters thesis freely readable online as "epicenters of justice" (2001).
Wilber argues that primitive cultures have an infantile mind-set. This is not only thoroughly disproven but his stance has been used to justify genocide (which is ongoing).
Wilber is in denial about the depth of the ecological crisis and guess what -- that spiritual ecology book you just read is also in denial.
Apocalypse happens. Apocalypse is Apopis the Egyptian Goddess of empty awareness.
Here's another non-Western spiritual book I recommend you read: "Nothing Ever Happens" by Sri H.W.L. Poonja (it's a 3-volume biography by David Godman published around 1998).
Poonja was a student of Ramana Maharshi but as far as western philosophy goes Ramana Maharshi supported Rene Guenon -- the founder of traditionalism.
The only thing is that Rene Guenon, in his classic manifesto "The Reign of Quantity" details how those who had began using the "traditionalist" label -- Evola, Schuan, etc., were actually misusing it.
This is very true because Guenon was an extremely subtle thinker and Ramana Maharshi called Guenon "that great sufi mytic."
In fact Dr. Sedgwick's new book on traditionalism published by Oxford does not even discuss Guenon's most important book in detail -- "the Reign of Quantity."
So these lies -- these psychological lies -- are deep. Suffice it to say that Ramana Maharshi stated that Sri Aurobindo was not there yet -- he did not fully understand. Why? Because Aurobindo could not philosophically embrace the empty awareness.
The Dalai Lama has supported the work of Ken Wilber but the Dalai Lama is a political leader. The Dalai Lama is part of a scholarly sect of Buddhism -- not a sect of actual spiritual yogis.
The biography of Milarepa gives a much more accurate analysis of spiritual power in Tibet and it fully relies on a hermit sitting in full-lotus -- using body energy and chi magic.
The fact that Ken Wilber states that chi phenomenon are of a lower order and can be disregarded demonstrates Wilber's misunderstanding of the harmony of the body with the mind.
This deep disharmony of body and mind is reflected through the deep disharmony of western science with Nature.
The Dalai Lama was given great support by the C.I.A. as they trained his personal bodyguards in counter-revolutionary assassination techniques in the mountains of Colorado -- coincidentally the base for Ken Wilber. The CIA were in Tibet BEFORE the Chinese invaded and the CIA were continuing the efforts of the Nazis' obsession with Tibet. The Nazis did a lot of skull measuring when the went to Tibet -- once again displaying the same racist views that Wilber promotes.
Tibet had once expanded into China and so the Dalai Lama as the man of peace is absurd.
Harmony can only exist as nothingness but it resonates from this empty awareness through body-mind nodes (the meridian lines). This is the secret of Pythagorean-Taoist dynamics. God is formally "I Am that I Am" which is actually 1:2:3:4 as the Harmonic Series. The I-thought is one and it resonates as Am (Om-Aum-Amen) from 2:3:4 which is the same as the Tai Chi symbol (an asymmetric sine-wave) and "that" refers to the empty awareness (the fourth dimension of space.
To get the details on how Pythagoras was lied about -- the great founding lie upon which science is based -- read Dr. Peter Kingsley's "Ancient Mystery, Magic and Philosophy" (Oxford U Press, 1996) and his book "In the Dark Places of Wisdom" (1999).
I would say that Kingsley has replaced Rene Guenon as another "great Sufi mystic."
Harmony comes from the Goddess Harmonia -- another goddess of empty awareness.
Daniel why do you think that the main source of hard currency for Gambia has been Western White Women from Europe getting their fun with the stud males of West Africa?
This is detailed in an athropology book I came across and then there happened to be a NYC scholar at my local radical bookstore who was from Gambia. So I brought this "sensitive" issue up and he did not deny it. He only stated that the President of Gambia who made that issue the focus of his speech should have also focused on the I.M.F. and World Bank destroying Gambia.
Yes because, as per the commodity fetish, these two are related.
Daniel you need to read Camille Paglia because the "fourth eye" -- the pineal gland (instead of the pituitary gland) enables an empty awareness beyond "love" and "bliss" and "caring."
Or read Robbe-Grillet -- there's a great feminist literary scholar from Australia who analyzes the heavy use of rape in Robbe-Grillet's work as a radical subversion of western power.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Thu, June 22, 2006 - 8:19 AMDaniel -- also you need to consider the fact that "Justice is Blind" -- this does not mean that justice is an illusion or not worth pursuing but that Justice is found through SOUND as natural resonance.
"Justice is Blind" is the statement for the Goddess Metis -- the Goddess of Justice -- blindfolded and holding a scale. An Egyptian Goddess (from Ma'at) turned Greek.
Anthropology professor Bruce Lincoln (U of Chicago) proves in detail that Plato lied about the meaning of Metis -- the topic of one of his academic journal essays.
Professor emeritus Stephen Toulmin, in his latest book "The Return to Reason" (2003) also focuses on the lost true meaning of "Metis" as does Dr. Peter Kingsley in the books I just mentioned.
Metis used to mean intuitive skill that can not be described in words.
Plato changed Metis to mean cunning lies used by women to confuse people.
Not only did he do that but Plato argued the Metis should be utilized to promote reason!! Is this not the first example of "parapolitics" in the West!!
That's rhetoric -- the focus of Aristotle's philosophy -- Aristotle who helped Alexander conquer the known world.
Both Plato and Aristotle lied about Pythagoras, as Peter Kingsley shows, and of course Pythagoras taught that all is Number AND Harmony (western science always leaves out the Harmony part).
Pythagoras came from matrilineal West Asia (were women often went topless but there was a fetish of the foot, just as in China).
Metis turned into Meter (as the squaring of the circle) which was promoted by Plato as equal-tempered music ratios (the basis for Timaeus and many of Plato's other works).
The squaring of the circle was used first to find the center of wheels for chariot fighting and then, as the cube root of two from the music ratio 4:5, to exactly double the cube for catapult technology. That was Archytas big contribution and he helped out Plato greatly. Then the cube root of two as 4:5 was rediscovered by Galileo and Kepler to make modern science.
The Lyre was the main tool of memory in the West Asian city-states because that little harp facilitated right-brain knowledge so that poets were the original encylcopedias.
This truth of the "Lyre" is detailed in a recent linguistics essay by a UCLA professor.
In otherwords Plato took the Lyre (Justice is blind but based on sound) and turned it into Metis as the Big Lie.
But in Greek mythology -- Greek was originally written right to left (showing a right-brain dominance) and also Greek language was multivalent (like rhyming poetry).
Anyway in Greek mythology "The Echo" (sound as power) was also the basis for Narcissicism -- the story of Narcissus killing himself by becoming in love with his own voice.
Here was can also see the early Greek love of the VISUAL body -- this was not the case in China for example -- not in the same VISUAL way that is.
There's been a lot of academic research on this -- how the Chinese did not emphasize visual muscular strength but instead emphasized invisible meridian lines of body energy.
Camille Paglia is wrong about one thing. She states that the early statutes of Greek are all muscular but with infantile penises because the Greeks were obsessed with gay sex and therefore idolized the boy-penis.
Actually if you read "Taoist Yoga" it describes that sublimation of the sexual energy causes the penis to eventually go back into the body!
This is even a social maddness in Asia called "koro" where a sort of psychic contagion spreads with men all thinking that their penis has disappeared back into their bodies! (Too much tofu eating in my opinion).
Anyway in fact those early Greek statues reflect the results of Orphic shamanism -- a large muscular body is realized through sublimation of sexual energy and also when even further sublimation occurs then the body transforms itself back into the radiance of youthfulness (quite literally).
The main meditation of the most famous magic healer of China -- Master Yan Xin -- is called "youth longevity" yoga and is based on visualizing yourself as a six or seven year-old (depending on your gender).

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012, and ayahuasca
Thu, June 22, 2006 - 9:41 AMThanks, Drew, for your good posts -- and your critique of Wilber, which I agree with. I'd like to see your paper.
Meantime, in connection with your post about the practices of abstinence, it is worth mentioning that among peoples who use Ayahuasca, abstinence is always associated with Ayahuasca use and is always considered necessary for shamanic training. And when I say always, I mean always. It is remarkable how uniform the association of Ayahuasca and sexual abstinence is, =regardless of how sexuality is treated in the culture outside of the context of Ayahuasca=. The many indigenous tribes in Amazonia are all over the map as far as how they handle sexuality and gender issues. (And there are polyamorous tribes, by the way. Children are cared for by everyone in the community. You could say that the commitment is at the community level; the tribe, or community, is an extended family and everyone is totally committed to its well-being.) Yet, in the context of Ayahuasca, in every culture -- without exception, as far as I know, including the mestizo Ayahuasca cultures in Peru -- connect abstinence with Ayahuasca.
This fact -- that these widely diverse cultures should be in agreement about this one thing -- has led some people to speculate that it must be due to Catholic influence on the Indians. Ayahuasca must have been brought to the Indians by Catholics, or by people whose Ayahuasca practices are influenced by Catholicism. They suggest that sexual abstinence in mestizo Ayahuasca practice comes from Catholic influence on the mestizos, and then Ayahuasca practices spread from the mestizos to the Indians. It's easy to demonstrate this is impossible (mestizo Ayahuasca practice is limited to a few urban areas in Peru, and only dates from the early 20th century). Its something that the Ayahuasca plant herself teaches them.
So, the question is, why? Sexual abstinence is part of the larger "dieta," the food aspects of which basically exclude anything with flavor -- salt, spices, onions, garlic, etc. There are variations on dieta, but it all boils down to blandness. There is, throughout the Ayahuasca-using region, this link made between abstaining from flavorful food and abstaining from sex. It is not only sexual activity but sexual stimulation to be avoided.
But what it seems to come down to is not about raising-and-containing energy, as it is my impression that some forms of Tantra are, but about calming it as much as possible. This is because these Amazonian practices are centered on communicating with Plants. More specifically, Ayahuasca practice has to allow the Ayahuasca spirit to do her work, and, as a Plant spirit, she needs you to be in a certain state in order to work with you. In fact, herbalism in the Amazon is learned in this way, too. You start with Ayahuasca, "dieting" with it so that she can teach you the basics of Plant communication, and then you "diet" with other medicinal plants in turn -- this means being alone in the jungle, avoiding flavorful foods and sexual stimulation, drinking large quantities of a particular plant for days, often to the point of getting sick from it, and after that you have the ability to use that medicinal plant for healing. But also, any kind of Ayahuasca healing on you depends on following the dieta. After a ceremony, the healing continues to work on you as long as you follow the dieta. But once your energies get stirred up again, the process stops.
Among the Napo Runa, the people I lived with, for example, the longer a shaman in training is able to maintain dieta during the apprenticeship period, the more power they will have when it is over. Once it is over, it is over, the power they have is permanent, and a shaman might go on dieta again in his life only if he has a particularly challenging healing to do. But, during the apprenticeship, if the abstinence is broken once, it is broken, the apprenticeship is aborted. And the teacher knows -- in fact, I know of a case where this happened, and the teacher immediately became sick. Among the Napo Runa, brujos are considered to be the "half-shamans" who never became full shamans because they could not maintain celibacy, and thereafter they are driven by envy of the "full shamans" and enviously want to do them harm.
Because of the link between sexual self-control and shamanic power, and the prestige given to shamans, you will find in the Amazon that men will sometimes brag, or maybe lie, about their ability to =refrain= from sex. "Hey, I can go for three months!" "I can go for six months!" There is a certain prestige you find associated with the ability to be celibate, even among peoples who are pretty libertine.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012, and ayahuasca
Thu, June 22, 2006 - 10:55 AMWow -- that's fascinating. I've read up quite a bit on that topic yet didn't realize the connection was made that explicit. It totally make sense since the little "salvia quid" use I did automatically activated the transformation of electrochemical energy into electromagnetic energy -- up the spine -- to slow down time for lucidity (just like kundalini).
I remember the book about the Amazonian (I think it was Peru) -- a mestizo who got lost or kidnapped in the jungle (I think it was the latter). He was seen as an advantage to the tribal leader because eventually he could procure iron weapons to give that tribe an edge over the others.
(this is a common pattern in western-native american dyanamics, for example where I'm from the Ojibwe got iron guns first and then attacked the Dakota).
Anyway this mestizo was to be trained to be the leader of the tribe -- to take over eventually -- and he had to do intense drug sessions, over and over, until there was permanent physiological transformation. This entailed turning into a jaguar in the spirit world.
Anyway there's some interesting anthropological research of late -- a new book linking the Amazonian practices and beliefs with the Melanasian. The message is that both these cultures have the same story about women being in control through music and that control is represented by the rainbow snake.
The same is found in the Greek myths, of course -- the sirens.
But it makes sense that this myth would stay so strong in the forest cultures (to the extent that if women interfere with the men's power-song-drug sessions then violence may occur). Anyway in the forest culture SOUND is much more dominant over VISION.
In fact that first book I mentioned (on the Amazon drug spirit travel) states that the women would go with the men but the women would not take the drugs. The women instead would support the men's visions through singing and the women could enter into the spirit world just by singing but with no drugs.
This is the case in Korea as well where traditionally the women entered into shamanic vision states while at the same time carrying on their day-to-day activities. In Japan traditionally it's the blind who became shamans and they do so through the shakuhachi flute music.
Professor Robert Nadeau writes in his recent book "S/he Brain" that it's well-documented that linguistic ability for women is less left-brain dominated and because of this language ability for women is more balanced with emotions and also women learn languages faster.
Professor Chris Knight connects these ancient, global beliefs of women being in charge through control of sacred songs for the rainbow spirit with the development of human language.
Professor Knight argues that language evolved to be enable long-distant hunting but to ensure high-iron intake the women organized sex-strikes in synchrony with the moon cycles. This could be seen as the very first instances of spiritual celibacy!
Anyway Knight's manifesto "Blood Relations" was well-received in academia even though it's a wild argument. His forthcoming book "The Human Conspiracy" extends the research into Darwinian signaling through deception (talk is cheap).
This is really crazy but when the pineal gland is open it needs to be understand that "the inner smile" of the brain is connected to the inner ear golden ratio spiral (the conch shell spiral). Primates evolved from forest creatures whoses jaws became our inner ears. In otherwords when our inner ears are activated to open up the pineal gland for bliss we our smiling with our forest tree primate jaws!!
This activation occurs through the natural resonance of sound.
These creatures (our ancestors) were nocturnal (relying on sound more than vision) and melatonin is maximized at 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. (the witching hour).
The serotonin is increased by transforming the sex hormones but then the serotonin turns into melatonin which then turns into DMT.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012, and ayahuasca
Thu, June 22, 2006 - 11:04 AMThis is off the main topic, but on this site www.soundlift.com/band/music.php you can find Salvia music (see "Here Now One," "Alive," "Interdimensional Doorway") that can bring you into the space by itself.
Speaking of biochemical changes at different times of day, the Indians of the Ecuadorean Amazon have a plant, Wayusa (Ilex guayusa) which they use for having more vivid dreams and clearer dream recall. They drink it when they get up at 4 am to discuss their dreams and the messages of their dreams. And they always say (and it has been my experience) that it works best when drunk very early, at the first light of dawn. I have heard the suggestion that it interacts with certain chemicals that our bodies have at that particular time of the day. -

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012, and ayahuasca
Thu, June 22, 2006 - 12:32 PMwhoa...there is so much fascinating information contained in this thread so far that my brain is close to boiling over with overload. but let me attempt to formulate some worthwhile responses while the thoughts are still fresh...
firstly, i third the opinion of wilber. after reading his materials and observing his methods, i would say that at the least he exhibits a certain 'new-fashioned' machismo. i would even go so far as proposing that he is an incarnation of lucifer or rather an extremely powerful constellation of luciferic energy in the steiner sense. anyone reading or referencing his stuff would be wise to practice a high degree of discrimination.
however, that is not to say that some of his concepts are not valid to this (or any) discussion, especially when illuminating some potential shadow truths that may not be politically correct and on the surface may seem contrary to 'liberal' thinking. i believe the key to truly understanding him and evola and other dark magicians is again to integrate a feminine perspective and proceed delicately and compassionately. nonetheless, it is to our detriment if we reject them outright.
daniel writes "He argues that men need to deal with the feminine as it is (for instance, accepting female moods and emotional shifts without trying to analyze or change them), rather than considering the possibility that an evolution of consciousness is taking place that will change the dynamic in these areas, and that we can aid this evolutionary process by holding space for it and encouraging it. "
absolutely. i see that not as machismo but rather a traditionally masculine feminist (but still anti-feminine) viewpoint. i quibble at this distinction because i would say that the reverse is also valid (a variation of evola's argument): that women have been secretly supporting and maintaining the patriarchal power structure by allowing boys to be boys. drew, perhaps you could continue with this by delving more deeply into robbe-grillet for us?
as i feel we are about head into very sensitive territorities, one last humble request for everyone in an effort to prevent the thread from deterioriating into an intellectual 'he said, she said': that going forward, please everyone consider that this last 5000 years of patriarchial dominance was perhaps a necessary evolutionary step and that our current 'problems' are not the result of men or masculine values (although its forms are distinctly patriarchal), but rather the unbalance of one perspective over the other.
time to watch some soccer and let the mind rest a bit... -

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012, and ayahuasca
Thu, June 22, 2006 - 6:48 PMFollowing up: Why women are more vulnerable to energy loss in a sexual realtionship.
oh sugar..I think it was star who posted this...Thanks!!!!
<<In the presence of the whole community, the God/king was sexually united with the Goddess/queen.
Through the act of sexual intercourse it was believed that one not only participated in that mysterious act of bringing new life into the world, but that one was actually engaged in a sacramental ritual which allowed the grace or creative power of the Divine to manifest more abundantly through one's life. >>
ok
this was the time of the 2nd chakra...
this is the chakra closest to kundalini at rest, it can be activated from the 2nd chakra, but because of the energy the chakra, it is easier to get trapped here (it just feels good man, ask anyone addicted to sex), it is neither bad or good and a whole being wants all the function..chakras can serve as doorways for awareness...
at this time it was easier for folks to feel The spirit of the Divine and The Earth. When men and women came together it was easier to FEEL the spiritual estacic union that was happening with thier energy bodies, easier in the physical, their connection to the Divine was greater and that energy, was that of the Infinite... so women and men were not drained of their energy during the union, it actually strenghthed their union to the Divine.
to paraphrase my Master
...for Vishnu there is only Lakshmi
for Lakshmi there is only Vishnu
(and we were created out of that Divine Love, sweet isn't it?and it is sweet along with a host of other things that defy description)
now i agree with little fish that we are on an evolutionary track that most have follwed in the physical but not the spiritual...
we left the time of the 2nd chakra...enough 'pressure' was applied to cause humanity to move to the 3rd chakra...the time we are in now..
Shared Transformation Issue 6
THE CHAKRAS
by El Collie
www.elcollie.com/html/Issue6a.html :
<<DESIRES 2nd chakra: (located in the lower abdomenabout the tip of the uterus for women, just above the penis for the boyzzz)) Seeking pleasure and avoidance of pain (Sexuality in its instinctual sense is located at this level.) This is the level of emotions. The 2nd chakra awakening may produce powerful sexual feelings. Great surges of negative emotion, such as jealousy or hatred, may be triggered at this level. Sudden, bizarre identification with various animals, such as wolves, bears or feral cats, may occur. When my 2nd chakra was pierced, I had spontaneous orgasms, which was a pleasant surprise. I also had a brief episode in which I felt that I was taking on the instincts and physical bearing of a huge tiger. This was an overwhelming and frightening experience. >>
POWER 3rd chakra: (located at the solar plexus) Personal power -- morality, judgment, self vs. other. This is the level of the will. When the 3rd chakra opens, there can be tremendous emotional upheaval. Lots of painful unconscious material can erupt. Vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea and other digestive troubles can accompany this opening. Telepathy, clairvoyance, clairsentience and awareness of astral entities may emerge with an awakened 3rd chakra. The newly unfolding 3rd chakra can make one emotionally and psychically hypersensitive. >>
The third chakra is also niether good or bad it is just another way for your awareness to be..
Tantra is also about being able to shift your awareness through the chakras. The 3rd chakra is also good for determining good/bad areas of energy (Don juan taught carlos to do this with his belly, the third chakra about 2 inches below the navel)
ok.....
so now we have men and women living in the age of POWER and Will
with funny ideas about how men are supposed to be and how women are supposed to be,
having sex, forgetting that they are spirtual beings...
meanwhile they still have an energy body.
(i was taught that the energy body of a woman is star shaped, easier to damage, faster to recover; and the energy body of men was more like an upright cylinder, harder to damage, harder to repair), an astral body, an emotional body...
we have been taught it is all the BODY. Our connection to the Divine is no longer functiong
but all the bodies are. (energy, astral etc.)
Now <<please imagine in the voice of Dr. Ruth>>
ven the man puts ess penis en the voman
vagina, two things occur at zee moment of ejaculation or rather there are TWO
ejaculations:
Zee first ejaculation is on the physical level ahahahahohhhhhhhhsplurtspuge
Zee 2nd ejaculation is on the energetic level, between energy bodies...
ohhhhhh dis is dee interesting part
when the man comes energetically he send out a line of energy that the women is receptive to at this time. It becomes attached to her energy body. Most men and women don't know this today but in the past it was known and it was systematically subverted to become just another way to get 'power' ...whether the people who began this process did so with the thought of evolution or just to have power who knows...
The problem with this is that women have been socially conditioned to be lesser, behind every Great Man ...i don't need to get into specifics, right...
because of suppression women have developed over thousands of years ways of manipualting sexual energy to gain whatever it is we thought we wanted...our lives, children, power, material possesions...
through what was our only PERCEIVED power. Behold the pussy!
Because of this, and because most humans, don't know how to tap into the Divnine...what we are feeding off of is each others life forces of the body... the energy that just animates this body for as long as it's got on the planet, Chi, Prana, whatever you want to call it, that is a lmited amount, the amount that decides how long you've got.
So for women it is easier for them to loose power in the male/female relationship as it exists today, with no knowledge of how it is being unconsiously manipulated by men, women and their children (from conception their is an energetic line created with mother/child, some women know how to let go others don't).
Some humans become experts at manipualting this 'line of energy' to get what they want, even without the knowledge of what it is they are truly manipulating.
so i hope this explains why women are more vulnerable to energy loss in this manner, we have been socialized to sacrifice for our men our children and our families...
we still socialize women to think of the wedding day as the most important day of our lives....
PLEASE
so now here we are coming up to 2012...with all sorts of astrological 'edges' making appearences
all sorts of built up pressure
are we gonna blow our tops or use this pressure as energy for transformation? -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.

Men move toward "universal justice" and women move toward "universal caring," through the spiralling stages that Wilber defines. >>
i list above how women through the ages have turned their one 'perceived' power over men into a weapon to gain what they needed or wanted through the ages. I am not passing a judgement on it...it was necessary. We were'nt given alot of career paths in the past so the one obvious power was exploited to just be able to live. Men, many of them angry that women still had/have this one power over them react in manfold ways to it. We all abuse it(poor pussy)
i would argue that the 60's was the sexual awakening we needed for women, we are now more than ever in public acknowledgement of the power of the pussy. (sex sells)
and we...bless us have not helped move it along...that said i believe humanity has already gone through it's 'piercing' of the 2nd chakra..when god was a women and it was women who ruled...
and we are now coming to the end of the time of the 3rd chakra, power/the will/ fight/flight, and god is a man and it is men who rule
it is my belief that because women have not all moved with men to the 3rd chakra, by becoming so adept at manipulating the power of the 2nd chakra (known to them or not)
we have gotten 'stuck in this chakra and have been kept in this chakra by men...
women that do use the power of the 3rd chakra get penalized,
we get called bitch instead of aggressive or ruthless, all traits that are admired in a man
women that operate from the 3rd chakra you will find are CEO's, feminists, the one you may think is a lesbian, but isn't...because she feels 'mannish'...
men think this 3rd chakra energy is theirs...it is not..it is simply how masculine energy operates through that chakra it is the chakra of the warrior, whenever you pick up a weapon or move to strike some one, whether you realize it or not your awareness moves through that chakra... when you decide to fight or flee it is in that space of awareness...it is used to command and gain power...women have not been allowed to freely move to this chakra they have been actively kept out of 'power' forced to use the 2nd chakra in order to gain what power they can, until the last 80 years or so..
imo women have copied that energy because that is the energy in 'power' now, women who want 'power' or even just to be 'equal' have manifested the feminine in the guise of the masuline, because we aren't sure of what the feminine feels like through this chakra
we have been made to feel it is wrong to operate from the same chakra the boys do
it is not 'lady like', so because of this (by the way i will remind all that it is just my opinion of information i have received transmitted through this personality configuration)
the Feminine at this time is in dire need of balancing with the male
before 2012 rolls around because unbalanced energies create unhappy things
and the energy will not move to the 4th chakra the Heart ...
Shared Transformation Issue 6
THE CHAKRAS
by El Collie
www.elcollie.com/html/Issue6a.html :
<<UNION 4th chakra: (heart chakra, located at the center of the chest) Relationships; shared experience; cherishing that beyond the self. This is the level of compassion. When the 4th chakra is being awakened, crushing pressures are often felt in the chest. I felt as if an elephant was sitting on my chest, and had the typical breathing problems associated with this opening. Vibrations may be felt in the heart and chest; there may be periods when the heartbeat is erratic or races wildly. All sorts of discomfort may be felt in the chest, including acute pain resembling a heart attack. In seeming paradox, feelings of detachment from loved ones may signal the early stages of the heart chakra opening. The power to do psychic or spiritual healing arises from an awakened heart chakra, as does psychokinesis (the ability to move or otherwise affect objects from a distance). Wish fulfillment and manifesting ability is also increased when this chakra is opened.
..According to many teachers -- and I am convinced they are right -- the most crucial chakra is not the 7th, but the 4th. If the 4th chakra remains closed, everything else in the system will be askew. The 4th (heart) chakra is strategically in the center of the chakra column. It is the balance point. Our linear idea that higher is better has no relevance here. The 4th chakra is the axis -- equidistant from all other points -- that is the most powerful and influential in the cosmos. True to its nature, this center does not promote itself to the highest station. Literally and symbolically, it hides its greatness by its unassuming position. The 4th chakra is the connecting point for the ethereal energies above and the grounding energies below: it is the place where heaven and earth meet. This vital nucleus is known universally as Love. .>>
ahhhh the Heart
this is speculation on my part...it seems we all agree we are evolving to a new way of being..this is just my speculation on that new way of being...it could be we enter the Time of the Heart, or it could be that all 4 of the upper Chakras come on-line for us, or for those whose energies are sufficiently balanced to shift to this mode of being....
maybe the word i'm looking for isn't spiritual, maybe it is just a matter of humans becoming aware that we are spirit manfesting on a material plane for whatever reasons...growth of the soul, creation of new different ways of being that can only take place in a 'matter dimension'.
i don't know...
as far as Wilber...
i distrust his use of the words justice and caring when referring to 'evolution' they have so much baggage around them.
i agree that men and women are different, we even have different energy bodies, but from my perspective this may mean we have access to different dimensions. Some dimensions may be easier for a certain energy body to navigate then others. it may signify a difference in how an energy body stores power/knowledge/manuevers and manifests...
but i believe we are all on the same revolutionary track...we just run it differently...
it is all one
can i get a HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
i have also read that there is a new energy body available at this time...
i have been curious about this, but i am now actively seeking and meditatiing on this so hopefully i can get the new model and test spin it, if it really exists...you never know.. i will happily write a consumer report about it....what the upgrades are...blahblahblah
Love

Bow
hope you had Awesome Solstices...

Thu, June 22, 2006 - 10:39 PMIn a qoute i posted the 3rd chakra is listed as near the solar plexus..it is not.
it is about 2 inches below the belly button...the rest of the information is accurate in it's sumarry of the energy of these chakras...

Thu, June 22, 2006 - 10:51 PM<<This is really crazy but when the pineal gland is open it needs to be understand that "the inner smile" of the brain is connected to the inner ear golden ratio spiral (the conch shell spiral). Primates evolved from forest creatures whoses jaws became our inner ears. In otherwords when our inner ears are activated to open up the pineal gland for bliss we our smiling with our forest tree primate jaws!!
This activation occurs through the natural resonance of sound. >>
This can also be activated with Kundalini....
just as an aside and because i failed to mention it elsewhere
women are able to move with greater ease through dimensions during their period...

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Thu, June 22, 2006 - 10:11 PMI find the theoretical nature of this thread interesting.
I feel like Drew has somehow given us the cliffs notes to the meaning of life, and that it would be great to sit down and try to get the long version.
And Gayle has so much knowledge.
And I may the mental lightweight here, but at the same time, it just hits me as odd that mixed in with the theory, Daniel is talking about some fairly personal stuff -- and the theory is what seems to resonate and attract attention.
Why?
Is theory so much more important, you smarty pantses?
I guess there wouldn't be much of a thread if everybody said, "Yeah, Daniel. Sounds like you're going to be poly for a while. Good luck with that, man."
Still, it's just kind of tiresome to witness grounded, non-mystical, plain old basic stuff about how the quotidian world works get overlooked in favor of more flowery stuff. It's tiresome, more than anything, because ignoring the quotidian (and personal) seems to have a way of mucking up theory.
For example, Daniel writes:
>>Wilber argues that this process works differently for men and women, on average. He suggests that just as with IQ, men tend to range more widely across the scale - more geniuses and more idiots - the same is true of this development, so that among men you find more sociopathic monsters and more Gandhis. He proposes that it is actually more difficult for women to attain the higher levels of spiritual development because it tends to be a more deeply embodied process for them - often spiritual transformation involves very difficult and painful physical transformation (think St Theresa). This seems to correspond to what i have noticed, anecdotally and through my own observations.<<
Anecdotally and through my own observations, it seems to me that women who opt out of childbearing or negotiate (somehow) realities in which childbearing does not become their primary occupation (and primarily their responsibility) -- women who are able to basically live as men in some way -- become every bit as likely to do great Ghandian things as men. I have a friend (male) who is delaying having children because of some work he has read suggesting a loss of IQ in parents. And it does seem that men who share equally in childcare may find themselves leading very ordinary lives -- neither gandhis nor sociopaths. That fewer women become sociopaths may be a function of far greater socialization toward being "good" in them. Though I'd say our public schools are packed with any number of female sociapaths. -

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Fri, June 23, 2006 - 8:00 AMWell it's nice that people seem to connect with the research I passed along. Mainly I have posted a lot on breakingopenthehead.com in regards to Daniel's great experiments.
There was a prominent anthropologist in the 1930s, a German I think, who published a book focusing on what he called "democratic shamanism." He argued that in hunter-gatherer societies EVERYONE worked to be energy healers usually by going on a vision-quest fast in solitude for a few days while puberty was setting in.
This is definitely the case in the Koi-San culture -- the oldest modern human culture -- and it seems to be well-documented for many other cultures.
Fasting converts the body to living off light -- it raises the frequency. The amplitude goes down but the main point is that the wave-form must be aligned with natural resonance. This wave-form is the sine-wave as asymmetrical nonlinear resonance.
Western science, as Henri Poincare, the father of chaos physics, emphasized, is all based on variations from the sine-wave. The square-wave, triangle wave, and complex wave-forms reduced to the sine-wave by Fourier transforms.
The problem with sine-waves by fourier transforms is that the transistion between partial frequencies can not be connected by using only sine-waves. So the Fourier analysis of only sine-waves must be converted back to differential equations of many orders. These equations are symmetric with asymmetric results while Pythagorean natural resonance has asymmetric equations with symmetric results. That's the key difference.
Anyway this problem of conversion of nonlinear sine-waves was at the heart of systems theory bioengineering (the AI movement after WWII with CIA-funded New Age guru Gregory Bateson as the founder of social science systems).
E. Lorenz then verified the chaos science of Henri Poincare in Lorenz' computer analysis of weather. Basically any nonlinear equations of three variables with one parameter being infinite (time) guarantees chaos science. (the whole butterfly analogy but better yet after 5 million years the Solar System goes Chaos).
Chaos science is by far the norm for Nature yet all engineering has tried, up till now, to "disappear" any nonlinear deterministic equations with random results.
The next generation of "sine-wave only" analysis in science is called "the wavelets" of chaos science -- just the same as Fourier transformations but the sine-wave changes size with the fractal scale of the nonlinear dynamics.
To analyze these equations the logic of computers has to be relied upon.
Chaos mathematician Steve Strogatz used Los Alamos supercomputers to realize the "universality" of the twisted scroll ring aka the double torus or the klein bottle.
This topology is of 4 dimensions of space which can not be visualized yet the "linking rate" has to be zero -- in otherwords the spiral of the topology has to perfectly line up.
It's been discovered that, for example, heart arrhythmia, a chaotic condition killing hundreds of thousands every year, is actually because of the loss of the Klein Bottle topology: the twisted scroll ring loses its sine-wave form.
OK a moebius strip is made by twisted a stip of paper while turning it in a ring -- it's two dimensions but only one-sided. The torus is a three dimensional moebius strip (think twisted donut) and the double torus is a 4-dimensional moebius strip (think you can not visualize this so time to get "spiritual")
The same loss of 4-dimensional sine-wave form causes cancer. Cancer comes from the time-cycle of the mitochondria, the power source of cells, becoming out of sync and nonlinear synchronization is created through this doube torus topology.
The most important topology in Nature, as Dr. Damadian, the inventor of the M.R.I. machine, realized, is the tetrahedral quantum chaos dynamic of water.
The New Scientist magazine recently featured this "quantum" magic of water. Because of the pyramid-power structure -- again the twisted scroll ring or tetrahedral sine-wave chaos of 4 dimensions -- water has its magical qualities that actually go against entropy as its volume increases!!
How does this work? Bucky Fuller figured it out. The Tetrahedron Pyramid is made of 4 equilateral triangles which are each made of two 3-4-5 Pythagorean triangles.
The Tetrahedron Pyramid is also the full-lotus yoga position.
Marsilio Ficino discovered that the 3-4-5 triangle (two of which make an equilateral triangle) was the secret to Plato's philosophy and this "daemonic mathematics" (see the book "Natural Particulars," MIT Press, 2004) was spread throughout Europe by the Medici Dynasty as the foundation of the Renaissance.
As I stated previously the ratio 4:5 (the major third in music) as its inverse compliment (5:4 -- in music theory to find the difference between intervals you multiply or invert the division) -- anyway --
5:4 is equalled to the cube root of three -- in otherwords from the two dimensions of music is automatically created the holograph of three dimensional form.
The ratio 4:5 automatically resonates from the ratio 3:4 (the Perfect Fourth in music theory) which is the complimentary opposite of 2:3 (the Perfect Fifth) and comes from the Octave (1:2).
Needless to say if you don't follow this just think that the three chords you constantly here in Blues and Rock'N'Roll and Punk Hardcore are the One-4-5 chords which are also found in EVERY CULTURE WORLDWIDE.
The major difference is that in Western Music the 1-4-5 chords use equal-tempered tuning based on the irrational number (the square root of two) while
TRANCE MUSIC (non-western) uses only the Natural Resonance of the Pythagorean Sine-Wave.
I call this the "Secret of the Snake" -- Kepler knew it and he was surrounded by Rosicruscians obsessed with the number 666 (or the infinite 4-dimensional resonance of the Perfect Fifth as 2/3rds).
The Chinese explicitly stated that 2:3 is Yang as the Male principle and 3:4 is Yin as the Female Principle. (you can read my masters thesis for the references)
The Tao Te Ching states that no one can say where the One comes from because it's not a number while Two reflects, as form, the infinite Eternal Feminine principle (empty awareness) thereby creating the first ratio -- 2/3rds (the first Male number) from which ALL THINGS ARISE.
This is modeled as the Tai Chi symbol and as Plato said "Time is the Image of Eternity" -- how can "time" be an image?? (Time is usually measured as frequency but now you know the secret). In science there is the "time-frequency uncertainty" principle which is at the heart of chaos science -- specifically the "adaptive stochastic resonance" that will be featured in professor Bart Kosko's forthcoming book "NOISE."
The Pythagoreans taught the same thing as the Taoist but Plato, building on the "symbolic revolution" to "contain the infinite" of the cosmic mother principle, extended the squaring of the circle (Freemasonry) to argue for a specific (not an approximate) value of infinity as a symbol.
This specific value for infinity (the square root of two aka the Power Axiom Set) was the great conceptual revolution of Eudoxus (creating magnitude as Number -- i.e. a geometric line equals a specific infinite number the square root of two as an "objective" universal axiom of REASON). Previously the square root of two had always been approximated, usually as 22/7.
If anyone goes against the Pythagorean Theorem (not from Pythagoras mind you) then you are dismissed as an imbecile when the opposite is true.
The simplest form, the Tai Chi or the Tetrad, is the most powerful.
Arthur Young rediscovered this equilateral Tetrad principle and made it the secret for his occult technology designs (after he designed the Bell Helicopter).
Victor Schauberger made the same discovery and as Nick Cook and Nick Redfern have verified, the secret "vortex" propulsion systems using natural resonance of water were sent to the U.K. and the U.S. for aircraft technology.
Now there are huge, flat equilateral black triangles flying with a bare hum and powered by "autoionization" plasma energy from water vapor!
Pressure and suction creates ionized energy -- this is how the alchemy of the full-lotus works.
How do I know? I had a very close encounter with such a wild occult technology in the summer of 1997. It was preceded by huge plasma spheres on the horizon doing inexplicable manuevers and each sphere was a different color (like the auras).
Also I encountered (in the science citation index of the Web of Science ISI database) new NASA research on how water vapor was the most efficient fuel for new vortex generators to power aircraft.
Amazingly I could not find this research again even though I had posted it on guerrillanews.com but then they deleted their whole website when the redesigned the website a little over a year ago.
Anyway to bring it back to sex, drugs and consciousness the big black triangle is of course the phallus and dare I say a new version of B.B.D.
To be realistic the three greatest sources of money in the world are drugs, human trafficking of sex slaves and weapons (the big black triangle).
Will this protect us from the comets and meteorites ejected from the 4:5 ratio of Saturn-Jupiter (which creates the holographic illusion of 3-D life on Earth)?
No -- yet the same black meteorite magnetic iron-power is the secret source for monotheistic religion (starting as Cybele worship that the Romans stole, to get back to the mythic Trojan roots and this black rock autoionized electromagnetic meteorite worship became the black mother mary worship. Islam also has the secret Kabaa (sp.?) -- the black meteorite in Mecca from a matrilineal, cosmic mother past).
Needless to say 96% of biological habitat on earth is in the ocean and the success of the Golden Ratio (nonlinear one resonating as 2:3) Da Vinci Code movie is based on the archtype of sacred sex with Mary or the Ocean as Mar.
Bioluminsence aura magic first evolved in the Ocean (just think of the telepathy now proven from the ampullae of lorezni, the electrochemical brain fat in Paddlefish and Sharks) -- see Dr. Andrew Parker's new book "In the Blink of the Eye" now being used by the military for neural network chaos complex adaptive strategy analysis.

Fri, June 23, 2006 - 1:07 PMi'm with you dowritewomyn when you say:

it's interesting how much pull the theoretical has and how regardless of effort thrown in to stay with the relational, quotidian or personal contexts for a bit longer, that the energy pulls in the upper chakra direction, even regarding the subject of sexuality, rooted in the lower chakras
is it that intimacy is hard to maintain and contain?

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Fri, June 23, 2006 - 3:52 PMYeah I pretty much have a book already online. A physicist wanted to publish my masters thesis but wanted to revised it. I said "hey" it's anti-copyright -- change whatever you want! haha.
Anyway as far as personal stuff well the problem with tantra is that it's based on secrecy because language is inherently sexual. As soon as you start talking about sex then you are not really sublimating sex.
Professor Hugh B. Urban is the expert on tantra and his forthcoming book is on secrecy and tantra. He has two books in review: on tantra in modern India and; magic and sex in the West. Should be great!
Seriously though if a person works on sitting in full-lotus, creating electromagnetic fields around them then EVERYTHING is personal. If a person's consciousness is at a "higher" frequency then another person's consciousness will "pull" that first person's "amplitude" down to the lower frequency.
For example the most famous Western saint -- St. Francis de Assisi (sp.?) -- he taught his followers to literally jump into an ice cold river if they even just starting talking or even thinking about sex.
If you figure that the main use of the internet is pornography then, as professor Urban emphasizes, "tantra" in the West is really a joke. Tantra is not about "nuggie nirvana" or really good ejaculate or something. Tantra is about brain bliss AFTER electromagnetic fields fill the body.
To be realistic this stuff is based on hunter-gatherer societies when population density was much lower and people's diets were much stronger (80% greens and 20% meat).
Now the real tantra is "sensory substition" by the new "brain port" device that special forces is using.
The brain can transform any of the senses so that people can hear with their eyes or see with their tongues -- at a distance, at night in 360 degrees!!
Now that's no different than yoga magic (or spirit travel) except that the machines are in control.
It's the Matrix -- for real. As I published online "the real Matrix" and the actual plan for the matrix -- it's on my blog drewhempel.gnn.tv
There's a structural reason this is happening -- the math is a conspiracy as professor Steven M. Strogatz has realized.
All these "skeptics" are retrograde. They're not even up to date on the most important science: macro quantum chaos science.
I've corresponded with Strogatz and with chaos math professor Ian Stewart about telepathy and extraterrestrials, etc.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Fri, June 23, 2006 - 8:11 PMDrew you are very engaging and knowledgeable thank you! Amazing research and intelligent insight!!
First off I would like to say that I am happy for you that you had a great awakening by distinguishing the "I AM" within the "I AM NOT". hehe....I read your comment on another website: “I got rid of them and all my other possessions because I Realized that who I am is neither the mind nor the body. I felt completely disconnected from an identity defined by material existence and I felt completely liberated.” <<<<< I would like to suggest that when you become even more liberated you will see that in fact you ARE your mind, body, spirit and ALL that is. :-) Separating all the aspects of our being here and now only creates more duality and misery at a deeper level I believe.
You wrote: “The Dalai Lama was given great support by the C.I.A. as they trained his personal bodyguards in counter-revolutionary assassination techniques in the mountains of Colorado -- coincidentally the base for Ken Wilber. The CIA were in Tibet BEFORE the Chinese invaded and the CIA were continuing the efforts of the Nazis' obsession with Tibet. The Nazis did a lot of skull measuring when the went to Tibet -- once again displaying the same racist views that Wilber promotes.
Tibet had once expanded into China and so the Dalai Lama as the man of peace is absurd.”
Wow…. I had some feelings regarding this. I just couldn’t quite put my finger on it. It was an Intuition. And for Plato to change Metis to mean “cunning lies used by women to confuse people” is absurd! Just another tell tale marker of the influence of the patriarchal system that dominated the world for the last few thousand years.
Well as for "democratic shamanism"? I guess if we have to put everything into terms like "democratic shamanism" (haha, I can just hear my Uncle laughing and kicking up an Indian storm with that one!)…..Everyone of us should be working to become energy healers… it is embedded in the very DNA of our makeup to attain soul/mind/body perfection. Its not just soley for the aristocrats, or Kings and Queens....or not just for men, but for women also. For all. I would go on to say even further that this truth should be applied especially to women, since they are the vehicles that all of mankind is born from.
Male domination has squashed most all the "ghandi" like women that existed (and still do)by the bus loads (so to speak) and in my eyes were far more widespread and common than the men who for the most part (in the last few thousand years) spent most of their time shinning their armour and making war toys. Of course when a man would deviate from the "typical" idea of what a man should be, and turn their heart and soul toward peace becoming avatars and mystic, it was a great thing! To be publisized and prided! - because iot was so rare among men. For women, this practice is more common and not so sensationalized.
The Koi-San may perhaps the oldest “modern culture” but the oldest culture that some archeologists have been discovering lately is the Goddess Culture of 30,000+ some odd years ago. And really, is the Koi-San the oldest “modern culture”? The San were small, sharp-featured people, dubbed 'Bushmen' by the Dutch because of their extraordinary knowledge of and affinity with nature. From what I understand the Khoikhoi (not San) society were hierarchical. Those who owned stock were regarded as 'wealthy'; there were servants (without stock) and those who would work as herdsmen as a form of hired labor. The Khoikhoi lived in villages which consisted primarily of members of the same patrilineal clan. Each village recognised the authority of a headman which was a hereditary position passed on from father to eldest son. Several villages were usally united into a much larger unit called a tribe, which could range in size from a few hundred to several thousand individuals. On the other hand the San (bush people) treated ALL people as equal and this is a good thing for sure.
I am fascinated with the peaceful NON war like culture of the Goddess culture ( non-dominating tribes) who honored the female birthing process and where men AND women were treated equal. LOST are the very early pre-historical clans of the beautiful peaceful people of the Goddess culture.
The “Living Light”! Yes Drew! It is what we are. It’s interesting that when frequencies are raised, the amplitude goes down. Kind of like the balance in a sine wave eh? And the more we attain the Higher mind of “love and light”, the more humble we become. For true harmony to be achieved, ALL forms must be aligned with a natural resonance. I have engaged in the past (20 years ago) in ethnogenics and what I learned was very valuable to my search for truth. I also was given a vision of the perfected body, and was shown how it was vital NOT to abuse any form of drugs no matter how “natural” they were in order to achieve a perfected state of being. Just because many tribal leaders and shamans use these drugs in order to gain “insight” it does not mean it is “the harmonic way” to True Knowledge. Thru fasting, prayer, repeated incantations thru sound and toning, staying aware of your body, mind and soul (with separating each as non-relative to the true state of existence) and finding peace (love) in the here and now of being HU MAN, I have learned in my own visions and dreamtime that this is integral to understanding “pure” states of being untainted by the misuse/over abuse of plant medicine, drugs, unhealthy thought patterns, too much mental reasoning and misunderstanding of our earthly vehicle.
Western Science? Can we truly call this “western” when most discoveries and sciences were practiced and proposed mainly by the Europeans which brought their dominating ways and technologies here to the West? Drew, you are so right about the incomplete aspects of the Fourier method. For sure basing and conducting all scientific experiments by means of a linear system, when most all of life is Omni present is crude. It is a fairly incomplete science since it is biased, censoring out whole forms based on the pure ratio of the circle; the One, the Monad; the Immutable Truth. To use the Fourier is a lazy way to investigate sine waves. The ocean is a pure example of true sine. Is it safe to say that the DFT is the sampled Fourier Transform and therefore does not contain all frequencies forming an image, but only a set of samples which is large enough to fully describe the spatial domain image; so therefore it does not contain the Whole view? Because the Fourier Transform is “separable”, then that in itself is not an example of True Unity. The ‘circle’ is intrinsic to the complete nature of who we are and where all life comes from. So a great diservice to our capability to evolve into an esoteric whole society was partially lost due to the squaring of the circle! The One, point, first cause has always been symbolized as a circle. The Native people even, without the knowledge of math or science, has always stated that the circle is the great Hoop weaving together all life.
The fact that the Fourier analysis of only sine-waves must be converted back to differential equations of many orders, one being in making sure to preserve both magnitude and phase of the Fourier image, which is in itself a process, is obviously partial to the Truth. And they say to be sufficiently accurate, its values are usually calculated and stored in float values. Whoa ….doesn’t this become alittle over processed at this point, and like processed cheese, can be abit much to the system of our Natural order creating illness and dis-ease in our culture? I am not very skilled when in comes to computing mathematical calculations regarding pure harmonics to differentiate between what is “right” or “wrong” in life, but my personal feelings are that there is truth in ALL modes of reality based on the Law of Thought, and that the mere reflection of any one thing, way or idea in our mind, becomes manifest in some wave or another: Thus reality can be linear at the same time as it is non linear and asymmetrical - Omni-partial in its wholeness. But in ALL of this, as we are presently speeding thru space like wild chaotic particles electric and alight heading toward Unity en route for the One; pulled to-gather by the attraction of life itself. This “attraction” is love itself.
I like the idea of asymmetrical equations with symmetrical results and visa-versa. I believe there is a reason that we have to compute certain realities based on the Fourier analysis as well. Of course greater results and higher levels of understanding come to us though thru the Law of One: Understanding the “many and the One”; the Omni-present state of our being. Harmony is symmetrical. When chaos becomes frantic, like static electricity, its heart follows an innate course seeking non other than to return to the state of Oneness.
Is it possible to actually find the infinite law at the root of ALL things, even that which in that which is linear? Chaos science is a higher understanding of the reality within the harmonics of life. That is the paradox of life.
Chaos science is based on nonlinear asymmetrical equations and are definitely the norm for Nature; beautiful and wild. But the term Chaos can be misleading because even Chaos follows a certain dynamic harmonic Law based on the One, which at its root is symmetrical. Of course everything born from the One is sensitive to its initial conditions and surroundings. Cause and effect. Henri Poincaré while studying the three-body problem, found that there can be orbits which are non-periodic, and yet not forever increasing nor approaching a fixed point. I am curious how this study can be verified as totally conclusive though since we do our “scientific testing” in a realm (our Universe) that IS evolving following a dynamic set of rules (the Law of Life) and that IS periodic approaching a fixed point; the state of Oneness – nothingness (yet is everything). The main catalyst for the development of chaos theory was the electronic computer. Much of the mathematics of chaos theory involves the repeated iteration of simple mathematical formulas, which would be impractical to do by hand. Electronic computers made these repeated calculations practical.
SO where does all this lead to? If by some chance a massive Solar Storm took down ALL of our computers we would have to resort on ‘intuition’ and TRULY live according to the harmonic Law of Nature without all the mental ejaculations of what is right or wrong with our scientific reasoning.
The fact that Cancer comes from a loss of the 4-dimensional sine-wave as the time-cycle of the mitochondria becomes out of sync with the Torus is great to know. I love your depth Drew! Even more so most foods that are sold in big chain stores are out of synch! Most all that we think, eat and drink is out of synch with Nature. The freakin’ calendar (Gregorian) is out of synch! I would go as far as saying that COMPUTERS are out of synch and too much time spent on them leads us away from experiencing Life and its Natural elements. The tetrahedral quantum chaos dynamic of water is fascinating, but if sitting too long in plastic bottles, underground pipes, dirty wells, loaded with chlorine etc can also become out of synch.
Thank you Drew for re-integrating me into the amazing realization of the pyramidal power in water. Its awesome. I love water. I am water. You are water….we ALL are water. Ỗm….The lotus position is a very good way to get in touch with the nature of our Ocean: Our infinite nature; the great sine of life!
We cannot contain the infinite by squaring the circle. That’s absurd. Neither is there an image of the infinite that we can view in our limited capacity here and now, but someday we will. Perhaps at some point in our evolution as we evolve to become Higher states of vibrational light beings dieing to all we know and think is real as we ascend into the greater aspect of the original blue print of our Nature: HU (animal) MAN (angels). I find it absurd to feel that it is a worthwhile cause to spend our lives wanting to leave our bodies, when there is so much to explore and tap into. Our DNA, I believe, was intended to resonate on all 12 strands! We were meant to transcend our limited “views” (not our body) in a world so filled with linear concepts. We were meant to decode the message of the eternal mystics who mastered their states with the knowledge and keys of immortality and expand our brains to FULL capacity (100%). There is nothing solid. We are all waveforms and light frequencies resonating at different levels of color and sound.
“The major difference is that in Western Music the 1-4-5 chords use equal-tempered tuning based on the irrational number (the square root of two) while TRANCE MUSIC (non-western) uses only the Natural Resonance of the Pythagorean Sine-Wave.” I understand this Drew. Very much. And with all music, there is a pull and attraction, no matter what the cadence is, depending on the modality, to always resolve to the Root. I kind of see it like I see the Universe…. moving toward the One by the force of attraction.
“The Tao Te Ching states that no one can say where the One comes from because it's not a number while Two reflects, as form, the infinite Eternal Feminine principle (empty awareness) thereby creating the first ratio -- 2/3rds (the first Male number) from which ALL THINGS ARISE.” <<<<<< I know this might be rather bold of me, but I don’t fully agree with this. I see One and Two as the parents of ALL numbers and equations. One being the female principle and Two being the male. Three (trinity) would be the ‘first real number’. And if you use the circle to draw and symbolize numbers One and Two (with a compass) …. you get the various patterns so well known in sacred Geometry. Using circles to symbolize numbers built upon each other as drawn in the illustrations seen worldwide as the Flower of Life, gives us a kind of symmetrical blue print of the basis of all shapes: equal and harmonious deeply steeped in the Nature of our being. So when you draw two circles together partially equal over lapping each other slight, the almond shaped center is called the Vesica Pisces (or the “Eye of Horus”), and this is where all numbers and shapes are born.
”This is modeled as the Tai Chi symbol and as Plato said "Time is the Image of Eternity" -- how can "time" be an image??” That is true. How can Time be an image? Time is measured as frequency (by us), and yet ALL things at the deepest level are frequencies. Can anything really be an “image” in and of itself ‘alone’? No. But in the Law of the many, which is what we are now… Time is ‘reflected’ by the mere existence of its path in this Universe, thus its ‘image’ will surpass all of our own manifestations, understanding and created Universes on into eternity. Time is invisible, yet is not. That again is the mystery of the Dyad; the paradox of life.
“Pressure and suction creates ionized energy -- this is how the alchemy of the full-lotus works.” <<<<<<<<<<< Om, yes….how powerful our own bodies are. Sacred divine Temples. And until we get ourselves out of the temptations of lust for money and power, the sooner we can harmonize with the Nature of our beings and return the peaceful heavily life that was intended for this amazingly, beautifully crafted Earth. We can reclaim our rites and right to exercise our spiritual gifts (telepathy, teleportation, ESP etc) without being clouded and brought down into the lower frequencies of fear and war. We do not have to leave this planet to finid "HEAVEN" when it is all potential right here and now.
Love love love….is what makes the world ‘rise up’. Kundalini! Thsi raises out vibration into Light-er modes of dimensions. Sexuality is NOT a sin. There is good wholesome power that can be utilzed in the act of engaing two people who "love" together. What a gift! Our selfish lust for power is the sin. Our bodies were designed to integrate fully with one another for the purpose of Love. Again, we can learn much from the sacred rites and mores of the Goddess cultures of long ago.
Thank you Drew for your awareness.
Peace to all!
Lana

Fri, June 23, 2006 - 8:18 PMooops!!!! SO many TYPOS! One of them being this one: "(with separating each as non-relative to the true state of existence)".... I meant to say WITHOUT separating each as non-relative to the true state of existence.
I trust you will know what I mean if you come across more spelling typos etc.... I do not want to try and "quote" to re-quote my mistakes here.

oops again!
Fri, June 23, 2006 - 8:28 PMI just have to re-word this one. >>>>
"Thus reality can be linear at the same time as it is non linear and asymmetrical - Omni-partial in its wholeness. But in ALL of this, as we are presently speeding thru space like wild chaotic particles electric and alight heading toward Unity en route for the One; pulled to-gather by the attraction of life itself. This “attraction” is love itself. "
Re-WORD: Thus reality can be linear at the same time as it is non linear - symmetrical and asymmetrical - Omni-partial in its wholeness. But yet in ALL of this we are presently speeding thru space like wild chaotic particles electric and alight heading toward Unity, en route for the One; pulled to-gather by the attraction of life itself, to return to the state of the One. This “attraction” toward the One is 'love' itself and at its base is harmonic and symmetrical.

sheesh....
Fri, June 23, 2006 - 8:35 PMis only I could "edit my posts".
I have to re-word yet another one. (sorry)
I said, "Is it possible to actually find the infinite law at the root of ALL things, even that which in that which is linear? Chaos science is a higher understanding of the reality within the harmonics of life. That is the paradox of life."
RE-WORDED version: "Is it possible to actually find the infinite law at the root of ALL things, even in that which is linear? Knowing Chaos science is a higher understanding of the reality within the harmonics of life (the true fundamental design of Nature - non-linear), it is at the same time true that reality can be also be found in that which is linear. This is the paradox of life. The great polarity. Without the one the other cannot exist. Both are relevant to understand completely the Whole.

goddess culture balance?
Sun, June 25, 2006 - 11:14 PMstar,
while re-reading the posts, i came across this that you wrote and could not let it slide without a comment:
"I am fascinated with the peaceful NON war like culture of the Goddess culture ( non-dominating tribes) who honored the female birthing process and where men AND women were treated equal. LOST are the very early pre-historical clans of the beautiful peaceful people of the Goddess culture."
this is a typical feminist argument that i have read before.
are you sure that men and women were treated equal in this arrangement?
do you have evidence for this?
if they were treated so equal, why the change from balance to imbalance?
for such a massive shift in consciousness to happen, there would have needed to be an enormous push of energy. in observing our current predicament, it seems that it is the imbalance that is creating the energy for change.
perhaps those beautiful cultures weren't as balanced as we may be led to believe? -

i found it an interesting perspective on history and if nothing else it stimulates thought.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sat, June 24, 2006 - 3:44 AM###### If a person's consciousness is at a "higher" frequency then another person's consciousness will "pull" that first person's "amplitude" down to the lower frequency. ######
In an essay in "The Evolutionary Mind", by Mckenna,Sheldrake and Abraham it is said that a molecule of water doesn't make humidity -- humidity is an emergent propiety of a bunch of water mollecules. So you view consciousness like a large pool, a vibrational field? When tibetan monks levitate, can it be due to envirorment of the set (other monks meditating in full lotus too?).

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sat, June 24, 2006 - 10:11 PM"This is definitely the case in the Koi-San culture -- the oldest modern human culture --"
I just have to ask about this one. What makes them the oldest *modern* human culture? (I'm sure you didn't mean it the way it sounds.) If what you're saying is that their culture is the oldest extant culture, how in the world do you know that? There is a growing amount of data to suggest that many living hunter/gatherer societies are *not* ones that have always been that way. Many are former farmers who decided to give up farming for a mobile way of life. What would constitute proof of the longevity of a given culture? Archaeology? Linguistics? Genetics? All of the above? How would the evidence from each of these hold up in the postmodernist arena, especially when there are many cultures vying for the claim to be the "original" ones? How do you know the Mayas, for example, wouldn't be the oldest?
Please don't feel compelled to answer this here, since it will take this thread on yet another impossible tangent.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Fri, June 23, 2006 - 7:32 PM<<Anecdotally and through my own observations, it seems to me that women who opt out of childbearing or negotiate (somehow) realities in which childbearing does not become their primary occupation (and primarily their responsibility) -- women who are able to basically live as men in some way -- become every bit as likely to do great Ghandian things as men. >>
Because we are able to hold onto our power/energy.
As i stated above a strong energy line is created with Mother and child. A Mother will spend all those Months building it
this is my child....
they change their lives around it, their focus is where their energy goes....
the same for men
what you focus on is where your energy goes
where your intent leads you..
women are taught to focus outside of them selves so all of our energy goes to everyone else...
men focus their energy on being the 'bread winners'...
as a society we have chosen the kids come first as a correct answer...
not know thyself
when faced with the thought of that being my whole life
i was desperate to find another way
and when the student is ready....
anyway
<<Still, it's just kind of tiresome to witness grounded, non-mystical, plain old basic stuff about how the quotidian world works get overlooked in favor of more flowery stuff. It's tiresome, more than anything, because ignoring the quotidian (and personal) seems to have a way of mucking up theory.>>
i have learned
that all of this
all of us
are just the same
the word i use is love
because that is the closest word/energy match we have in common
with each other
love has many forms
as humans we have dented the surface
it is not my intent to be flowery...
that is your meaning
when i speak of LOVE
i speak of the primal force that drives all creation
there are no words in english for it...
no words truly come close
but the closest is LOVE
Chakras may seem
flowery
some of them have flower shapes....
but they are also portals
to move your awareness through
different levels of conciousness
our conciousness
THE conciousness
is theory more important
it is what i am drawn too...
at this moment
I choose the path of Tantra
it changes your view
nothing is personal
life is school
the teacher
i have been taught to ask why am i in this situation
what am i supposed to learn from it
i don't ask why someone did or said something to me
i ask why did it bother me?
what in me caused me to react to this energy in this manner
i learned that i need to learn to be more grounded during the Solstice...
or else people will call me flowery
and to adjust my response to the board i am on
so it's not a matter of not wanting to address Daniels personal story
he's on a different path
what works for me doesn't work for everyone else
i choose Tantric Fast Path and Meditation..
not psychidelics...
it appealed to the logical side in me
and relevant or not my energy is all concentrated in the upper four chakras right now
just where im at in my 'process' right now so it affects how i respond
does it make any of my theories less valid as to the discussion of sex/gender/conciouseness/2012?
i guess it depends on your world view...
different ideas, theories, and delivery, will appeal to different folks
just as the same ideas and theories delivered differently will appeal
to different folks, why some have such different delivery and packaging
people think they are two separate and different things...ha
i have a very specific task
i was trained with Tibetan Buddhism and Mysticism
the language i use will appeal to people who understand energy in this way, or want to understand energy in this way... and it is actually quite technical..
and really not very flowery...
i think they keep that in there to keep people going along...]
because by the time you realize what's really happening...
you have enough power and clarity to do so..
your hooked...
there is no turning back
flowery indeed..
harumph..<GRIN>>

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sat, June 24, 2006 - 5:33 AMOK the secret of the "kiss of the yogini" is that the clitoris is to be sucked until it's hard and sex fluids flow freely which the man drinks (to restore his ejaculation).
Also "reverse breathing" is essential to tantra. Diaphragm breathing is what enabled mammals to survive in a low-oxygen environment (after Earth catastrophes).
Normally people breathe with the emphasize on the lungs but the diaphragm should be used as a pivot point with the muscles below the diaphragm drawing the sex energy up the back.
This is also called "the upward draw" or "reverse breathing."
Gay sex for men is the highest secret of western magic in O.T.O. because there is a secret gland at the base of the sacrum which is activated through anal pentration and this fires up the kundalini.
I'm not in O.T.O. but the "g-spot" orgasm is based on the same secret for females which is why "size matters" is the secret motto of second wave feminism.
The "small universe" or "microcosmic orbit" can be practiced by anyone. It just entails sitting straight in a chair and resonating the secret 12 points along the outside of the body:
1) womb-belly 2) reproductive organs 3) base of torso 4) base of sacrum 5) base of spine (small of back) 6) kidneys 7) top of back (center of shoulders) 8) base of skull 9) top of skull 10) middle of forehead 11) throat 12) Heart-mind
Just keep cycling the energy around those points, slowly focusing on each center, starting with one, and moving your mind around each point.
It's good to resonate "Om" on the first point and then "Mua" (backwards om) on the second point and then back to "Om"
Also you should sit on the edge of the chair so that there's acupressure on the base of the torso to activate that secret gland that is at the base of the sacrum.
Finally as you keep practicing the other glands get really hot. You feel the kidneys get really hot and then the thyroid gets really hot and eventually you feel the pituitary gland get really hot.
In the end you can "flex you cerebral cortex" so that you feel magnetic bliss in the pineal gland and the whole body will be suffuse with electromagnetic fields and totally limber like a baby.
In fact the top of the head will become soft (just like a baby) so that the spirit easily leaves the skull and you will not be hungry nor thirsty. This is called "ba gua" state in Taoist yoga.
The same "small universe" practice is secret to India as detailed in Mircea Eliade's book on yoga.
You will be able to "breathe" through the palms of the hands and the center points on the base of the feet -- there will be electromagnetic resonance through those points. This is called whole-body breathing.
So once the 12 points around the outside of the body are open (based on the 12 points of the chromatic music scale) then the 7 to 9 points in the center of the body open up (again the 7 to 9 notes of the diatonic music scale).
Then you can sit in full-lotus pyramid power based on the Tetrad as 1:2:3:4 (a pyramid equilateral triangle which as eternal growth the number 9 -- or 2:3:4 as Aum-Amen-Om -- this is why the capstone of the pyramid on the dollar bill is not down on the pyramid). The tetrad is based on the 1-4-5 music intervals found in all human cultures.
Nine is the sacred number of eternal growth in China.
So the 1:2:3:4 then turns into 4:5 as 5:4 -- the cube root of two -- creating a three dimensional pyramid power vortex.
The empty awareness is the space between our I-thoughts.
Logically all our thoughts are based on the I-thought -- no belief is necessary.
From where does the I-thought arise? Just repeat I-I-I-I over again, not as a mantra, but as a logical experiment in philosophy.
By seeking the source of the I-thought an asymmetrical resonance of the Golden Ratio (one as a continuous fraction for the slowest converging nonlinear fractal) is created (which governs black holes and all growth of Nature).
The golden ratio was the key to the Gothic Freemason cathedrals of Europe.
The I-thought is attracted through suction back into the center of the brain so that finally the cerebellum is activated as the foundation for all thought in the brain (so the pineal gland resonates with the moon-sun-earth vortex).
Suction is just pressure which is quantum chaos sound (phonons). Pressure as quantum chaos sound drives the evolution of galaxies and quasars and supernovas. Pressure as quantum chaos sound IS anti-gravity.
The space between the I-thoughts is the empty-awareness beyond spacetime.
This I-thought (mind yoga) increases the frequency but the small universe increases the amplitude so that alchemical transformation occurs through the asymmetrical sine-wave.
When language was closed off into left-brain axioms based on "I Am" (1:2:3:4 to square the circle) then left-brain asymmetry was created that went against the Harmony arising from the empty-awareness.
Right-brain resonance connects the Tree of Knowledge (the mind) with the Tree of Life (the womb-belly) through the Serpent (the kundalini) and God is the Heart-Mind as the foundation for each life.
God (through the patriarchal priest-hood) separated the tree of life from the tree of knowledge so that humans would be unaware of the secret power of sex.
The priest-hood by focusing on the source of the I-thought eventually resonate their consciousness all the way back to it's source in the Heart-Mind and the heart literally stops for over 15 minutes.
This is called "cutting the knot" for "eternal liberation" detailed in the book "Talks with Ramana Maharshi" -- a teacher of the ancient Brahmin priest-hood.
In Egypt the promoter of monotheism -- Ankenhaton and his queen Nerfititi -- the king stated outright (in a recent academic book it's documented):
"I have never known my non-existence."
This is the same as the "all seeing eye" of the UnDead Brahmin teaches.
So after the heart-mind was transcended to create the UnDead Priesthood there was a reversal of the Harmony of Heaven and Earth and left-brain logic separated the Tree of Knowledge from the Tree of Life using right-hand iron-based technology.
Eve -- instead of being the secret source of eternal sex power became Eve (as the corner of a square) to be controlled for materialistic power. Once the UnDead Awareness is achieved by "cutting the knot" then the priest is beyond all good and evil.
In Africa this became the Freemasonic BLACKSMITH caste which can shapeshift into crocodiles (Set -- the "evil" god of Egypt) which became the "power Set Axiom" (the official name for the square root of two, the first math equation to square the circle used to find the center of the chariot wheels).
The book "Iron, Gender and Power" is a recent academic text on Africa also see "In the Eyes of the Night: Witchcraft among the senegalese" -- another academic ivy-league anthropologist documenting shape-shifting reptilian blacksmiths as the most important magic.
The iron-based technology of patriarchal pastoralism and iron-based rectilinear plowing is the most ancient form of oppression -- when the Bantu-Koi cultures then took over the Mbuti-Baka-!Kung-San cultures of matrifocal hunter-gatherers.
In Sumeria the original Garden of Eden myth has the Snake as goodness with Eve in charge.
The letter "A" is actually the upside bulls-head from Sumerian ideograms with Omega as also a bulls-head. The bull being used for the first rectilinear iron-plow farming. See the recent academic book "Women of the Hoe" for documentation of the ancient matrifocal horticulture (without the rectilinear iron-based plowing).
God comes from the Indo-European word "Gott" meaning Bull for farming fertility rites of the ancient Solar Dynasty kings. Even scholar Karen Armstrong's book "The History of God" does not give the etymology of the word -- that's how brainwashed everyone is!!
Those kings, as detailed in professor David Gordon White's new sacred sex book "Kiss of the Yogini" ruled Western Asia through
tantric sex with a shamanic goddess (using the techniques I detailed above).
Have a nice day people.

earth 2 drew
Sat, June 24, 2006 - 9:49 AMmaster drew,
when i've been reading your posts, i've been getting the same feeling i've felt when reading someone like jose arguelles or bucky fuller for example. the volume of mind-expanding material is so vast and coming at such rapid clip from so many varied angles that the brain feels on the verge of popping (like a balloon). in the context of a book or a thesis, this is easier to stomach, as one is able to take some time, sit the book down, digest the material and let it process. however, for some of us mortals, that process takes days/weeks/months sometimes. in the context of a discussion group, this derails the interactive nature of the thread, as much energy is taken up just trying to catch up to the thought process of one particular individual.
in addition, there are so many esoteric tangents to the main throughline that in and of themselves are worthy of a complete discussion (my personal favorite being the sacred geometry of music). i know you believe (and i'm sure can prove) that all these tangents are connected to our topic here and i'm not debating the validity of any one of these morsels of knowledge, but there are just so many of them that is extremely difficult to just pick one and develop more fully. and that's just me, if you multiply that by the number of active contributors and their personal favorite tangents, then we get a thread that looks like the universe right after the big bang. unfortunately with the inadquate limitations of the tribe thread architecture, it is quite difficult to develop one line of collective consciousness collection with thought particles bouncing everywhere.
i propose that there are enough juicy chews contained in your philosophy to warrant its own thread and i would be a joyfully active contributor should you choose to create one (and might even beat you to the punch). until then however, i would invite you to download and listen to this wonderful song by the group called fat freddy's drop entitled 'take it slow'....
slow down papa. it's not necessary to shoot your wad all at once, reload and shoot again. in fact, i would propose that your urge to do so (a tendency you share with these other great expansive masculine minds) illuminates as much about our discussion as the content of the splurges themselves.
not a criticism, just food for thought brother.
nonetheless, muchas gracias for sharing all this.
there's some real gems in there,
just please give the rest of us some needed time and space to dig them out.

Re: earth 2 drew
Sat, June 24, 2006 - 10:38 AMWell thanks. I'm listening to native american flute music and before that I listened to Elephants in Thailand making music.
I'm serious about the whole non-western music schtick although last night I listened to rock on kfai.org
That's my favorite radio station -- a community radical station that you can listen to archived or live.
As the great writer of the book "Arrow Words" states, an Ojibwe professor, western culture is based on "nostalgia" and that is inherent to the music ratios of equal-tempered tuning.
Music, as Plato knew, is the most powerful tool of mind control.
I recommend traditional Chinese, or ragas or Berber hand-clapping or Tuvan throat singing or Temiar healing music or Zimbabwe thumb-piano.
Lots of non-western choices which aren't nostalgic.

Re: earth 2 drew
Sat, June 24, 2006 - 9:04 PMYea, I agree littlefish.
Drew.... you may well be perhaps a wee bit too "heady" for some of us. Sometimes.... language can be a barrier and TOO MUCH of it can repel those who would otherwise be interested to 'learn' but will back off because its too much to assimilate: BRAIN OVERLOAD. You do seem to be all over the map form one topic to the next. I really do appreciate your wit and knowledge. But knowing is one thing..... sometimes its better to be alittle more humble and considerate of those who may not fully understand all this sci-quantum stuff. You also speak as one having authority. Its ok to humble down abit and take it slow...... allow room for digestion regarding ONE topic. All this talk about this and that regarding sex (which should be viewed as LOVE-making) is, well, not very flowing..... its not fully hitting HOME. If I were a woman, I don't thing I would want to engae in this with you because it seems like there is SO MUCH that has to happen for it to be 'worthy'. LOVE is alot more simple and humble than that.
As far as the term "western"..... its more like European influence. The native peoples are the true people of this "Western continent". I don't think its so much about the style of music that is the detriment to society..... but its WHO is creating the music. I have heard "eastern music" played by some very patriarchial East Indian men, and this did not nearly touch me as deeply as some of the beauitful music (folk/jazz/rock) that I have heard played by some very aware, liberated and environmental Goddesses around camp fires. I have been touched in the deepest parts of my being by some humble Goddesses singing their "own" channeled music, far more deeper than I have listening to some of the Patriarchal East Indian men that play 'ragas' (which are not from their own heart but words written by someones eleses hand).....
AND visa versa..... I have been appalled by alot of the "commercial radio music", and instead drawn to be deeply touched by some other beautiful Indian brothers playing their Dulcimers and harmoniums humbly round and within our prayer circles. So it is NOT so much WHAT type of music that is not in synch, but it is WHO is playing and creating the music that counts.
Breathe....... flow.........
So what would you like to talk about (in another thread) Drew? Music, Sex & Tantra, Sine Waves, Western verses Eastern, Quantum Science? Define some points of topic so we can follow and speak back and forth to one another.
I am open to discussing 2 ways with you. But not if it seems one way...... some people have asked you questions you have not even answered, to them directly.
You said: "People usually bottom out conceptually for deep psychological reasons which might never be overcome unless there's some sort of crisis experienced.
Sometime I can induce that crisis virtually but that tends to get me in trouble (and by the way that's all part of the Tantra fun)"
What the..... do you mean friend? You are OTT. Perhaps you can humble down abit to meet people where they stand - as all the greatest and most effective yogis, shamans, teachers of righteousness and mystics have done.
Peace in your mind.... and the "rest"..... ahhhh the great peace of 'rest' will follow.
Sincerely,
Tom

Sat, June 24, 2006 - 10:00 PMI'd like to second Littlefish on this. I've been avoiding this thread mostly because there is just too much going on to maintain a focus. The fact that your messages are strung out into evenly spaced sentences makes them visually hard for me to follow (lots of scrolling up and down). Some short, coherent, well-focused paragraphs would help, but that's just a suggestion. ; - ) -

Re: earth 2 drew
Sun, June 25, 2006 - 7:44 PMdude, you're relentless...the fact that you intended to answer my original question about robbe-grillet and then never mentioned it again (or even came near it) over the remainder of your periphrastic post is much more sublimely amusing than subtly annoying.
i want to modify my earlier metaphor -- your astounding output is not related to the 2nd chakra; it's the intellectual equivalent of the aztec two-step. but after watching the hilarious tenacious d video shared in the other thread, i'm personally willing to take the chance that there just might be a baby being born out your buttocks.
i've taken the liberty to start a new thread here:
2012.tribe.net/thread/b04...ff44fb64ee6
your public/private playground to expound at your heart's content (and for everyone to join in as and where they like) without further jeopardizing the theme of our original topic here.
now, for goddess sakes everyone, may we pleeease go back to the scheduled program???
it IS about sex y'all...and we're just beginning to reach under the tip of the iceberg as the master d would say... -

Re: earth 2 drew
Thu, June 29, 2006 - 9:14 AMOK here's the Robbe-Grillet schtick. I couldn't find the book by the Australian feminist (maybe later)
There was a conference in 1989 at NYU "Robbe-Grillet: Sexist of Feminst" --
"Royal Brown argued, much as Robbe-Grillet has done, that it is the feminine figures in the films that impose themselves and come out 'victorious.' ....What we have here is no feminist goddess but Robbe-Grillet's goddess Vanade, victorious/vanquished, wh 'triumphs in her very violation,' as P.R. (homane to Puailne Reage) writes in the preface to Catherine Robbe-Grillet's clasic sado-erotic novel L'Image." (p. 156)
Gee I guess the French are big on this stuff.
"Robbe-Grillet's witch Alice, adolescent principle of explosive freedom and transgressive sexual subversion/perversion, magically outmaneuvering the unwitting and slow moving lawyer, pastor, and policeman armed with the codes of the law, is still a variant of the 'monstrous little girl' that Philippe Sollers finds, in Portrait d'un joueur, in the most sophisticated, professionally successful, and autonomous young woman. The same is true for both Marie-Ange unmaking a reviving mystical discourse of spiritism and vampires or ...."
"Again, I would argue, we come close to the situation of pornography or sexploitation and yet remain in a critical position in relation to it. And again the critic...struggles with inadequate, traditional tools to take account of this marginal or double situation." (p. 157)
"Approaching some conclusion, I situate the senses of the sado-erotic in Robbe-Grillet's films less in the monsters of a specific historical moment than in the recurring spaces of disorder of the void of self (the absence of any organizing principle that gives sense to the world or the self) and the orders that take form from these disorders." (p. 167)
Thus spoke Raylene L. Ramsay author of "Robbe-Brillet and Modernity: Science, sexuality and subversion" (U Press of Florida, 1992) -

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sat, June 24, 2006 - 10:38 AM"Gay sex for men is the highest secret of western magic in O.T.O. because there is a secret gland at the base of the sacrum which is activated through anal pentration and this fires up the kundalini.
I'm not in O.T.O. but the "g-spot" orgasm is based on the same secret for females"
You know what, this fits with something I received one time when in an altered state. Conventionally, the second chakra is considered to correlate with the sexual organs. However, I received that Freud's distinction between the vaginal and clitoral orgasms -- a distinction which was vehemently rejected by feminists in the 1970s who were saying that all female orgasms are clitoral -- was actually an important insight. What I received was that the clitoris and penis correlate with the second chakra, but the G-spot (source of vaginal orgasms) and the prostate correlate with the root chakra, the base and source of life. This, according to what I received, was why many gay men, especially those at the "receiving" end, have a "feminine" quality, because this "feminine" quality actually has something to do with a strong root chakra, while "masculine" qualities, and a strong masculine sex drive (which is literally a "drive," a sense that the sexual energy needs to "go somewhere") is correlated with strong second chakra energies. How does this fit with what you have studied, Drew? -

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sat, June 24, 2006 - 11:05 AMOK -- first off all I got a "PM" asking me about "the secret history of the world" on Amazon so I checked that out -- it's another macro quantum chaos Da Vinci code expose based on Cassapoean channeling.
Um Jaye Beldo gives it a top review -- he's another conspiracy researcher in Minneapolis and I had to inform him that his research was on the CIA website.
That's kinda my point is that the Cassapoen (sp.?!) channeling website is clued into the Jose Arguelles-James Hurtak Stargate conspiracy which is a good thing
but my schtick is that there is no "progess" for spiritual evolution.
The alien E.T. channeling is part of the stargate conspiracy in my opinion.
Who knows who are "daemons" or "guardian angels" are -- it's just a projection of our spirit beyond the body.
Anyway on the whole second versus root chakra well the last class I took with the most amazing qigong master Chunyi Lin at springforestqigong.com Master Lin stated that as the second chakra is opening up the
same sex will be attracted to you.
This is because, as I stated before, most people have low frequency but high amplitude (especially men who literally hunt for sex).
Women can be sexual predators as well but it's not as common.
Anyway what usually happens is that a man with strong amplitude low frequency while become sexually aroused but then since they can't understand the reaction to someone with high frequency consciousness the man typically projects back onto the source of their arousal.
This is what Reich called "negative transference."
I want to point out that Daniel's emphasis on Reich is another "too western" problem because Reich, while he was right on with his whole orgone stuff, basically taught that people should just have as much sex as they think necessary.
In otherwords he didn't understand how to really sublimate sex back into the empty awareness.
Jung also was too western -- anyway -- once the third eye is fully open then the energy can freely flow so that other people can feed off your body energy (how they use that energy is up to them) and you can just freely recharge by sitting in full-lotus).
The key is that it's not really "you" recharging and that's why going into the emptiness is so freaky because you no longer feel your body anymore.
But it's really no different than deep, slow-wave sleep. If a person can remain conscious while in deep sleep then they can also recharge their energy.
What if a person dies while in deep sleep -- would they ever know that they died?
This is when people start freaking out about if they are really alive anyway or if they are an UnDead projection from beyond spacetime.
Advaita Vedanta teaches that the only thing real is the empty awareness.
Buddhism taught this as well as Theraveda but Mahayana teaches that a person should go a teach others that everything is empty awareness.
Kind of a catch-22. The thing about buddhism is that emptying out the 7th level of consciousness (Mahayana) does not necessarily mean that the person kills themselves as "cutting the knot" in Advaita Vedanta.
Ramana Maharshi is very explicit that after nine years of solitude his heart stopped for 15 minutes and he achieved eternal liberation but even his followers are too western and ignore this very explicit physiological fact.
I know because I went on their email forum.
But the mind yoga of vichara is just left-brain raising of the frequency through suction -- it doesn't get the amplitude of the small universe.
the philosophy is that the path is the goal -- only that there is no goal so most people go what's the point of practicing the path.
This is why Logos (or resonance as Reason) in Taoist and Pythagorean philosophy (also Kashmir Saivism Tantra) puts the emphasis on Harmony.
The One is the I-thought but resonates from the empty awareness of the Cosmic Mother.
The Brahmins were supposed to have absolutely no contact with females and if it happened they have to go through elaborate cleansing rituals.
Me -- I just sit in full lotus if the second chakra of someone I'm around gets activated and they start feeding off my "amplitude."
Usually they don't know what's going on so you have to be careful with this stuff.
Negative transference -- that Reich emphasized -- is of course the reason behind the witch genocide in Europe and the original attack against the Pythagoreans.
In fact there's a joke because the Greeks callled them "dirty Pythgoreans" (see a new book on Essenes and Pythagoreans) because the public baths were avoided: water is such a powerful transductor of energy that shamans do not want to bath in an area that is shared.
hahaha.

the one of the cassiopean thing was me. I ask you because Cassiopeans have a reply on the stargate book here:
www.cassiopaea.org/cass/stargate.htm ... cassiopen material is very close in which its says to a series of lucid dreams i got in the past (and, aplying the shamanic model of reality, they could be "real") So i was interested in what's your oppinion on that. The thing is that cassiopaens seems the most "rational" channellers i've seen (they dismiss the New Age movement) . Any thoughts? Daniel?

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sun, June 25, 2006 - 7:06 AMIt's not that I don't know what you are trying to say (regarding empty awareness), its just that I see deep into the realm of what we call "empty". I feel that there is no such thing as "empty", and that all emptyness, voids etc are filled with plenmum, light, thought - the force of attraction.
I know that the state of "knowing" comes without trying, and to allow oneself to be 'witness' to all of our states without judgement, soft and placid, calm and simple, may perhaps seem like its a level of "empty space".... but the further we clear our thoughts (empty our minds so to speak) from negative thinking, rationalizing too deeply, judgment etc, the more we are FILLED with the high vibration and power of light - love.
There is nothing "empty" in that. :-)
Love IS the greatest power.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Thu, June 29, 2006 - 9:01 AMThe 8th level of consciousness is the Universe but it only happens when the first five levels of consciousness are "emptied" out.
This took my a LONG time to figure out -- it was the ultimate Ch'an Koan of Master Nan, Huai-chin (and mahayana buddhism).
See you can never empty out the whole universe (achieve consciousness unity) because the ego still remains so there's no "you"
Don't get me wrong -- Master Nan, Huai-chin empties out astral levels up into the galaxy. He sits in full-lotus all day long and travels up that high!
But he states that it is very difficult to do this and even still there will be a cosmological catastrophe destrying the galaxy at some point anyway so you're not really "free."
The farther you travel the harder it is but when the first 5 levels of consciousness are emptied out then the 8th level of consciousness is also emptied out because when your body is converted to light as consciousness then there's no "you" left to experience the "Universe."
See if you read "Taoist Yoga" they also empty out the first 5 levels of consciousness -- but only as the final step.
So the shaman is doing spirit travel (after lots of small universe alchemy and with multipe light bodies) and then at the very end sticks the peat moss plug up the butt, goes way off in isolation (with maybe some students as helpers -- sticks the plug in AFTER in isolation, haha).
Anyway this is all based on ratios -- the music resonance as number theory 1:2:3:4 -- detailed in Taoist Yoga.
But the final step of Both Buddhism and Taoist (and Advaita it's the first step) is that the LIGHT of the body-universe (the first five and 8th level of consciousness) returns to total consciousness (empty awareness) beyond any light or darkness.
Beyond any dualities.
That was Advaita's big schtick with Buddhism. Consciousness (the eternal feminine) is NOT emptiness but is awareness. But Buddhism was like -- dudes it's not some logical source of the I-thought (because that's just a left-brain technique of logic) -- it's "emptiness"
They fought over how to interpret to eclipse of the Sun -- called "the white hole" whereby black holes emit Stephen Hawking radiation and also where the Sun is covered by the moon so that there is only a halo -- also the galactic halo.
Is it Zero or is it One? Is the number One a Zero as Whole or is Zero emptiness as a nihilistic void.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Thu, June 29, 2006 - 11:07 AMOk Drew, I realize that you are answering some peoples PM's here in the Thread, mine included, (instead of PM'ing them back) by the jigsaw manner in which you are rambling off. I would like to discourse with you thru PM's but (what you don't trust?), so I will ask you here ok? Excuse me and forgive me (to others) if you feel this is "not on topic".
Drew: What makes one think that emptying out the whole universe is the only way to achieve consciousness unity? We ARE conscious unity.
Everything IS "conscious" - reflecting - mirroring: in Unity and Separation. In all our separation, the Universe is, regardless of what we think, still in Unity with itself; and very Conscious. That's us. If it were not so, we wouldn't all be here together - even though some of us are at war with eachother creating an illusion that we are separate, we are still doing this "unconscious" thing conscious, all together - spiralling at 186,000 miles+ (aprox) a second thru space. We are in this 'life' together. Is it really necessary to create "levels" and "catagroies" and say we are not enlightened until we... reach some state?
I am happy for Master Nan, HUai-chin that he sits all day long in Full-Lotus. It is one of many ways to reach the Understanding of full Unity. There are as many ways to reach 'understanding' as there are stars in the Heavens. If he can gain immortality and extreem health in his body this way and really "love", inspire and teach others to do the same, than he will will truly have mastered the mystery of being hu-man.
Drew you say: "The 8th level of consciousness is the Universe but it only happens when the first five levels of consciousness are "emptied" out."
- What do you mean? - We can rationalize and speculate everything into levels and catagories until we are blue in the face. The 8th level is happening right NOW, as we speak, among all the other possible levels that this Universe is - even though we have not "emptied out". Do you mean becoming aware of it tangebly your self? How can one thing truly ever "empty". Really. It's not about emptying so much as it is about "filling". - with experience -
Drew you say: "So the shaman is doing spirit travel (after lots of small universe alchemy and with multipe light bodies) and then at the very end sticks the peat moss plug up the butt, goes way off in isolation (with maybe some students as helpers -- sticks the plug in AFTER in isolation, haha)."
A True Shaman, is doing it all. The Shaman just does not sit in Lotus all day long, but she/he engages in the community to teach the ways of medicine - healing the light body as well as the physical body. He/She is active and very engaged. The Shaman becomes One with the peat moss more so near the begininng of his re-entry here on Earth, not the end. Actually the True Shaman realizes there is no begining and no end. Cycles within cycles - wheels within wheels.
Drew you say here: "They fought over how to interpret to eclipse of the Sun -- called "the white hole" whereby black holes emit Stephen Hawking radiation and also where the Sun is covered by the moon so that there is only a halo -- also the galactic halo."
Drew, who fought over this: "how to interpret to eclipse of the Sun "? Stephan Hawking radiation, and .... :-) what is it? It's all radiation to some degree or another. Here is where you can kindof lose some peoples focus.... because it feels like you are fragamenting your thoughts in word.
Empty Awareness.
We can see it both ways. That which is empty is by far the greatest filled. There is no such thing as pure emptyness.
It is Zero - it is One - it is Two.
Truth comes from Trinity.

Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Thu, June 29, 2006 - 5:25 PMWell for those of us you do this stuff a lot it gives us happiness and we realize it already is there but a lot of people suffer alot from health issues (all of us do) and these are mainly caused by
emotional imbalances.
My focus is, like Daniel, on the flying snake, but I express it through resonance and music.
When we say "consciousness" it's still a left-brain concept but music and song transcends those differences and
we can see how imbalances need to be restored.
This computer and even these words are all left-brain, right-hand asymmetry which is based on a "deep disharmony" because it's created from
consciousness "contained" through logical axioms "I Am that I Am" turned into math using logarithmic irrational numbers.
All rectilinear farming arose from a Patriarchical philosophy that is anthropocentric.
Shamanism and Animistic Art was replaced by People-centered Art and circular housing was destroyed -- 10,000 years ago!
Anyway the "asymmetry" goes all the way back when hominds left the forest which is where sound is the main means to communicate and the complexity of the forest cycles everything in balance.
So those of us who choose to resonate with the forest are going totally against the dominant resonance of today which is Fire and Metal (instead of Earth and Water)
It's the same consciousness that drives all this asymmetrical resonance but to embrace this consciousness is to realize that it can not be symbolized by logic or technology.
Yet there is a method to the madness: music. The ratios of music found in every culture -- the Octave, Perfect Fifth and it's complimentary opposite Perfect Fourth -- are the secrets of the snake -- the secrets to restoring
Harmony with Harmonia.
Just think ALL of western music is based on irrational number, left-brain logarithmic math.
So we are constantly inundated with disharmony.
Cancer is an epidemic and slowly spreads to it manifests and yet it's main cause is emotional imbalance -- too much focus on lower frequency emotions of stress, sadness, anger, fear.
The 12 points along the outside of the body are the Natural Harmonic Nodes to restore balance and happiness.
The 7 to 9 points inside the body do the same.
After emotions it's diet -- and it should be 80% greens. How many people do this? Not me -- not even close! But I have in the past and try to make up for it with full-lotus resonance.
So if your diet is 80% greens what's the chance that some of that is going to by psychotropic? Pretty damn good. Chlorophyll is a photo-receptor reactor activating the melatonin-DMT continuum.
But still the shamans (like Taoists who focus on healing the community and all the other plant-based shamans -- they all use
trance music (with or without drugs).
Buddhist monks focus on chanting Om Mani Padme Hum (because the different sounds naturally cycle the energy around the back and front channels and up and down the middle channels).
But Ch'an or Zen monks focus on "free style" chanting -- a variant of Tantra. the Monks do Free Jazz chanting improve. What ever sounds come to them -- each individual just follows their intuition.
Well I'm repeating myself so that's all I have to say!! haha. -

Yes... om so humble...
Drew, "This computer and even these words are all left-brain, right-hand asymmetry which is based on a "deep disharmony" because it's created from consciousness "contained" through logical axioms "I Am that I Am" turned into math using logarithmic irrational numbers."
We are returning. When we read something that feels right and centered, even if we are here, we become that much closer to balancing our life. Music created by some beings here in the West are not always created from consciousness contained through only logical axioms - "I Am that I Am" conscious in any form of Music can turn math into rational digits using logarithmic irrational numbers. Yes?
I do agree with getting away from discordant enegry as much as possible. Computers really can mess with our natural flow and reasoning for Nature. OM.... balance for emotional balance. So can too many drugs - excused as "medicine".
Peace be with us all*
Thanks Drew and all for allowing our room..... feel free to eat 80% greens! This will get you higher than ANY drug yet known to man. A healthy diet - a healthy Temple - is a healthy love.

back to sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sun, June 25, 2006 - 10:50 PMin an effort to get this forum back on track,
below is a summary of some salient points so far
in relation to our topic at hand (or in groin or in heart):
(disclaimer -- obviously the points as eyes see it,
and only intended as a recap, not a rewrite.
words cited are as the original author crafted them.)
~~~~
daniel: our current civilization represents an extraordinary build-up of negative Shakti energy that is materialized in our destructive technologies, miserable bureaucracies, and unhappy relationships. Of course, from an alchemical perspective this means there is an enormously potent pool of energy awaiting transformation.
xris: nurturing tendencies exist in both men and women, even though our society (which we are re/deconstructing in this post) does not encourage men to explore it in themselves.
light: Tantra is an entire 'vehicle' and to sum it up Tantra is a practice that is: 24/7
anistara: clarity is good
star: "Not only are we left unbonded with our mother, we are now methodically being prevented from bonding or deeply connecting with our own body." "The compulsive obsession of our culture to compete, dominate and control, are all symptoms of human beings lacking personal power and the inability to engage in relationship."
davidjelly: true Love is unconditional Love and that means allowing our partners total freedom to explore what they need to in order to trancend their own sexual stage.
hoop: There are some fascinating links in the histories of transsexuality and entheogens. These are hardly accidental.
sidecross: how are the children to be cared for in a multi sexual partnership paradigm?
drew!: The West has never had yoga and so the west does not understand how to sublimate sexual energy...body must be transformed before samadhi is achieved...consciousness beyond spacetime which can transform all matter into energy.
dowrite: repurposing sexuality is a conversation that keeps coming up because some people don't feel like the flowy haired breck girl equivalent of whatever the ad was that we all got brainwashed with about sex.
daniel: the feminine "will to power" is often operative in the sphere of relationships...(wilber) men tend to be oriented toward "justice," while women tend to be oriented toward "caring."...male blockages tend to center around the second chakra, while women are struggling with issues around the throat chakra..(deida) the masculine principle as "direction" and the feminine principle as "power."
drew: This deep disharmony of body and mind is reflected through the deep disharmony of western science with Nature..."Taoist Yoga" describes that sublimation of the sexual energy causes the penis to eventually go back into the body!
gayle: abstinence is always associated with Ayahuasca use and is always considered necessary for shamanic training...not about raising-and-containing energy, as it is my impression that some forms of Tantra are, but about calming it as much as possible.
drew: both these cultures have the same story about women being in control through music and that control is represented by the rainbow snake....linguistic ability for women is less left-brain dominated and because of this language ability for women is more balanced with emotions and also women learn languages faster.
lilfish: women have been secretly supporting and maintaining the patriarchal power structure by allowing boys to be boys.
light: it is easier to move between dimensions when there is a "betweenness" present...chakras can serve as doorways for awareness... when the man comes energetically he send out a line of energy that the women is receptive to at this time. It becomes attached to her energy body...what we are feeding off of is each others life forces of the body.
light: the Feminine at this time is in dire need of balancing with the male because unbalanced energies create unhappy things and the energy will not move to the 4th chakra the Heart ...(el collie) The 4th (heart) chakra is strategically in the center of the chakra column. It is the balance point. Our linear idea that higher is better has no relevance here. The 4th chakra is the connecting point for the ethereal energies above and the grounding energies below: it is the place where heaven and earth meet. This vital nucleus is known universally as Love.
dowrite: women who are able to basically live as men in some way -- become every bit as likely to do great Ghandian things as men.
drew: The Tetrahedron Pyramid is also the full-lotus yoga position. Pressure and suction creates ionized energy -- this is how the alchemy of the full-lotus works. Da Vinci Code movie is based on the archtype of sacred sex with Mary or the Ocean as Mar.
rebecca: it's interesting how much pull the theoretical has and how regardless of effort thrown in to stay with the relational, quotidian or personal contexts for a bit longer, that the energy pulls in the upper chakra direction, even regarding the subject of sexuality, rooted in the lower chakras is it that intimacy is hard to maintain and contain?
drew!!: Tantra is not about "nuggie nirvana" or really good ejaculate or something. Tantra is about brain bliss AFTER electromagnetic fields fill the body.
light: what you focus on is where your energy goes...where your intent leads you.. women are taught to focus outside of them selves so all of our energy goes to everyone else... men focus their energy on being the 'bread winners'... as a society we have chosen the kids come first as a correct answer... not know thyself....different ideas, theories, and delivery, will appeal to different folks just as the same ideas and theories delivered differently will appeal to different folks, why some have such different delivery and packaging people think they are two separate and different things...ha
star: If by some chance a massive Solar Storm took down ALL of our computers we would have to resort on ‘intuition’ and TRULY live according to the harmonic Law of Nature without all the mental ejaculations of what is right or wrong with our scientific reasoning.
drew: Gay sex for men is the highest secret of western magic in O.T.O. because there is a secret gland at the base of the sacrum which is activated through anal pentration and this fires up the kundalini. the "g-spot" orgasm is based on the same secret for females which is why "size matters" is the secret motto of second wave feminism...Right-brain resonance connects the Tree of Knowledge (the mind) with the Tree of Life (the womb-belly) through the Serpent (the kundalini) and God is the Heart-Mind as the foundation for each life. God (through the patriarchal priest-hood) separated the tree of life from the tree of knowledge so that humans would be unaware of the secret power of sex.
gayle: the clitoris and penis correlate with the second chakra, but the G-spot (source of vaginal orgasms) and the prostate correlate with the root chakra, the base and source of life.
drew: as the second chakra is opening up the same sex will be attracted to you. This is because, as I stated before, most people have low frequency but high amplitude (especially men who literally hunt for sex).
chontler: SUMMARY OF CROWLEY’S SEX MAGICK SYSTEM * VII° Adoration of the phallus as Baphomet, both within and without.
tom: All this talk about this and that regarding sex (which should be viewed as LOVE-making) is, well, not very flowing..... LOVE is alot more simple and humble than that.
star: the further we clear our thoughts (empty our minds so to speak) from negative thinking, rationalizing too deeply, judgment etc, the more we are FILLED with the high vibration and power of light - love. -
Mon, June 26, 2006 - 10:43 AM“sidecross: how are the children to be cared for in a multi sexual partnership paradigm?’
Let me first say, I posed the very question to Daniel, and did not receive a reply.
As for my answer, the children would be everone’s children; genetic ownership would have to be abandoned.
The bigger issue is that we may have never been meant to be in groups above 35 to 45 members. This bio-hardwiring may be the missing answer to to the greater question of why everything is dominant on this palnet by one species, our species.
The idea of Darwin’s 1850’s habitat systems is now mute when every species now is part of homosapien habitat.
It took until the 19th century to reach I billion people; 156 years later it is 6.5 billion people.
Mon, June 26, 2006 - 12:17 PMin regards to children being raised. I suggest everyone re-read, or READ, Aldous Huxlies (SP?) book titled "island"
I recently veiwed an interview from way before the melinium by tart "I believe" I could look it up... But the point is in the book there is a very definate plan for raising children in the way we all want, finding there genious potentials and such.
In the interview this guy was tottaly re-implimenting his support for what was written in this book, in regards to how to raise children......
I am a child, even at 40, but felt great appreciation for aldous's idea. And it seems people are calling for this type of society. Not giving credit to huxley is forgivable, if the reality of it comes to fruition..... Sadly we are a long way away from a true way to raise the child with a appreciation of the human potential.........
we are all one....
Re: back to sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Mon, June 26, 2006 - 11:56 AMintimacy, trust: how to build it, how to hold it, maintain it, nurture it and repair it when broken
whether with several partners simultaneously, with one exclusively, same sex, other sex, fluidity between transgendered stages of identity, in community, within a household, etherically, physically...politically, personally
what have you...what are the politics of trust?
I see many people experimenting across the boundaries, an inevitable course of our society's development, and where we are called to shed personal judgement while we move into a "new" consciousness
there's judgement, but there's also discernment, and it seems to me that understanding the changes in theory is one thing, another is putting these ideas into practice, or knowing how to be there for ourselves and for others as we attempt to adapt to "alternatives"
regardless of progressive lifestyle chosen, I see people suffering when they are unclear on their boundaries and not in ethical agreement with partners...here's just some scenario examples that i've seen lately where it seems clear that we've got a ways to go as a collective on successful functions around our upcoming sexual and gender fluidities:
--------------------------------
polyamory:
where someone is saying they are in agreement mentally, in order to be "cool", or accepted, to go with their "adult" sensibilities and needs for excitement, experimentation and intensity of contact...so they agree to an "alternative" arrangement
but after the fact find out that they agreed from unconscious needs to join emotionally, to not be abandoned, that they have not yet developed the sense of self to know exactly why they agreed and where they were coming from, or whether they could handle it, etc.
or they find that they agreed holding secretly to the idea that allowing this freedom in the partnership would ultimately bring the partner back exclusively
or they are betrayed by one who wanted multiple partners from a dishonest place, as a means of avoiding their own difficulty with holding intimacy in the already existent relationship, and ultimately leave for someone new
---------------------------------------------------
gender:
there's the "old guard" queer community, struggling with the transgender politics...for example: female to males who identify as "dykes" and want to be part of traditionally female only activist groups...
old guard butch dykes who fought long and hard to create female identified groups rather than being marginalized by the mostly male groups are having trouble with the transition to allowing biological "males" into leadership roles within them...they feel betrayed and are emotionally sensitive due to past violent or otherwise "male" perpetration in their histories due to their realities as masculine females
---------------------------------------------------
spirituality:
emotional bypass at the hand of the "spiritually free", those who seed children in community or in one on one relationship and then receive a "higher call" that takes them to study with a master somewhere, or to deepen a spiritual pursuit while right at home, but who nevertheless abandon parental and household duties to be picked up by others in the group or the one partner..under the guise that it is a "higher calling"
---------------------------------------------------
just examples where the theories alone are distorted by some for personal use or where we are set to experience resistance to change on the personal front due to lack of process...
we've got a difficult task at hand, that of ethically transitioning into alternative lifestyles when as a collective we are still quite unaccustomed to taking personal responsibility for the needs of the whole, or are not committed to grounding ideas before manifesting them into the scene
plenty of people are completely equipped and know how to hold the intimacy with another long enough to get to the bottom of whether everyone is in true agreement or not around bringing in experimental choices, but let's face it, more people are completely unprepared and unsupported to sit with such a task
there's being able to apply some of these tools on a personal basis, or in small groups, but then there's bringing it into a community level, where the process needs to sit for longer, to let levels emerge, to know how to truly serve all involved, etc.
yeah, challenging stuff...
Sat, June 24, 2006 - 1:07 PM>>Gay sex for men is the highest secret of western magic in O.T.O. because there is a secret gland at the base of the sacrum which is activated through anal pentration and this fires up the kundalini.<<
And I thought it was all about the prostate.
Okay, I'm seconding the motion for a Drew thread. And I'm going to ask you, Drew, to please try to teach what you have to teach to the lowest common denominator. My experience is that it's usually the best and brightest who can manage to explain their theories in the simplest, most direct ways. And I'd like to know what you're talking about. Maybe start out with one point. And when you're sure we're all with you on that point, build from there. -
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sat, June 24, 2006 - 2:31 PMall i can ask is what don't you get?
Just ask anything that comes to mind and well take it from there.
People usually bottom out conceptually for deep psychological reasons which might never be overcome unless there's some sort of crisis experienced.
Sometime I can induce that crisis virtually but that tends to get me in trouble (and by the way that's all part of the Tantra fun)
Of course, you're referring to your own deep psychological reasons and not those of the people reading your messages, right?
(Not that I'm wishing you have sort of crisis!) -
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sat, June 24, 2006 - 7:33 PMwell, its the XI° and not particularly a secret. the rite is open to interpretation but isn't necessarily a gayor prostate thing.
from user.cyberlink.ch/~koenig/sunrise/xi.htm
SUMMARY OF CROWLEY’S SEX MAGICK SYSTEM
* VII° Adoration of the phallus as Baphomet, both within and without
* VIII° Interaction with something outside the closed vessels of the vagina and the anus
* IX° Interaction inside the vagina with either the blood or the secretions of a woman when excited
* X° Impregnation + fertilisation of an egg + the act of creation or succession (e.g. election of the OHO)
* XI° Two-folded: i) Isolation in the anus [per vas nefandum] where it is considered unable to interact with anything at all ii) interaction with excrements (one of Crowley’s preferred ingredients) and small amounts of blood (when small wounds occur through the intercourse), mucus and of course the mucous membranes that lead directly into the blood supply, etc., etc. Crowley dreamt of giving birth to a foetus per anum. "... a mass of blood & slime."
Crowley allegedly wrote a longer piece on the XI° from which only an outline has survived. He explained that "the 'Child' of such a love [XI°] is a third person, a Holy Spirit, so to speak, partaking of both natures, yet boundless and impersonal because it is a bodiless creation of a wholly divine nature."
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sun, June 25, 2006 - 5:59 AMOK -- the crises have begun! Rock on! I had to leave GNN for awhile because of cyber-stalking which got kinda creepy.
This brings me back to an earlier "question" for me to expand on the Robbe-Grillet comment about rape which is tied in with the root chakra orgasm.
I just started Colin Wilson's first novel: "Ritual in the Dark." Wilson was dismissed as a phillistine by Dwight McDonald -- the great NYC anarchist critic. While Colin Wilson's first book "The Outsider" became a rogue best-seller (much to the dismay of the old Left) Wilson's first novel was dismissed outright, thereby smashing Wilson back into the doldrums of kitsch KKKulture.
Anyway "Ritual in the Dark" is actually a really good book -- normally novels bore me to no end. My favorite is Flann O'Brien's "The Third Policeman" followed by Samuel Beckett's "Watt" (Wilson hates Beckett just to demonstrate the "complexity" of my psyche, haha). A big shout-out to "B. Kite" by the way.
"Ritual in the Dark" is about a serial murderer and Wilson's main argument is that serial murderers are motivated by sexual desire.
Anyway I'm enjoying the ambience of English sensations. Wilson is an existentialist which means that stylistically he's big on including all the sensations in a nice goulash. (sp.??!!)
What makes the British novel different is the immense focus on water and as I've stated water is the crucial vortex generator of paranormal phenomenon.
This is why the great paranormal book "The Dragon and the Disc" and F.W. Halliday's follow-up books focus so much on water in Britain. Halliday (sp.?!) gives the gruesome details of Aleister Crowley's fixation on the Loch for his occult magic rituals.
Anyway one has to come to grips with the UnDead Dynamics (or Die-namics) that drives western civilization. As I stated the logic of the left-brain priesthood reversed the consciousness so that it went back to the Heart-Mind, killed the heart, but since it was based on natural resonance, transcended death and all morality.
It might be hard to think a person could use their brain to become the UnDead (read Michael Talbot to relive this truth) but Wade Davis' excellent research on Zombies and Drugs demonstrates otherwise. Davis traces it back to West Africa where the trail petters out but I submit that the dreaded "sleeping sickness" of West Africa cured only by western chemotherapy most likely has a cultural spin-off in Zombies (the symptoms are almost identical).
That process of occult western science development was based on left-brain axiomatic logic which was a tool for right-hand iron-based technology. The blacksmiths, just as the Brahmins, could have absolutely no contact with females and the blacksmiths were the most powerful shamans of Africa who negotiated relations with the other shamans and the new priests. This is also detailed in an academic book on Nepalese spirituality -- the blacksmiths were the "vanishing meditator" (Zizek term) between indigenous shamans and the new Buddhist priests.
Anyway in the Levant (meaning Sun-Riser) there was a struggle against the Lunar-calendar matrilineal religions and Christianity is the result of the patriarchal victory. Read Acharya S. amazing new book "The Sun Gods."
But gnosticism represents the underlying heretical truth maintained in the West -- just without the pyramid power yoga!! Colin Wilson wrote a forward to a recent academic book on gnosticism that is really a truly impressive work. I gave the book to a friend who is a gnostic, druggie fanatic so I can't remember the title (once again demonstrating my "complex" psychic) haha.
This friend, a regular at the Hard Times anarchist cafe of Minneapolis, has done serious spiritual drug experiments yet found that smoking the legal Salvia was the scariest, wildest trip of all!! After one hit and flying through the floor he refused to go back.
Anyway Colin Wilson in his book "Ritual in the Dark" focuses on how people lack emphasis on "formal" abstract intellect. He mentions how Newton never married. The fact is that Goethe, Newton, etc. -- the great scientists sublimated their sexual energy through intense religious ascetism. This is detailed as misogynistic materialism based on Freemasonry by the brilliant, radical scholarly books of professor David F. Noble -- fired from M.I.T. and the Smithsonian for his neo-Luddite exposes and Noble recently organized a professors' strike at York U in Canada against AI software takeover.
So because the sublimation of consciousness in the West is the "right-hand path" with the left-hand (tantra) path being an excuse for genocide (kill the witches, the natives, etc. because they'll just get judged by God that much quicker -- hence the 1980s genocide in Guatemala organized by evangelicals and Pat Robertson's recent call for Chavez assassination) -- because of this reversal in the asymmetry of the vortex of energy -- there is a fundamental
SEPERATION OF HEAVEN AND EARTH.
Freemasonry, as promoted by UC-Berkeley math professor Abraham Seidenberg, is formally based on sacred geometry that SEPARATES heaven and earth -- with heaven being the "tree of knowledge" or mind and earth being "the tree of life" or sexual energy.
So the blissful love of meditation (the true pyramid power of full-lotus consciousness which is right-brain -- just read professor Theodore Roszak's awesome gnostic film Jesuit novel, "Flicker") is now replaced by fake love of materialistic lower chakra orgasms and abstract conceptual rhetoric used to defend (law) and to create (engineering) apocalyptic technology.
Drugs (mainly booze used originally to stop dysentery) and smokes and coffee and sugar --- these are the drugs to cure neurosis, to dull the left-brain source of intention or will-power (the anterior cortex cirgulate gyrus). Remember Freud stated that religion was just an obsessive disorder and yet the Nazis strongly used Freudian psychologically to keep their bourgeois in line! (See the recent exposes by a UCLA professor on Freud and the Nazis).
A person is not supposed to have the will-power to stop themselves -- with the mind -- from breathing so much that they pass out. It's that specific part of the brain (see "Extreme Survival" by the dr. in charge of the Explorers Club) which is overcome by the limbic region of the brain to restore breathing.
For some reason in first grade we had a contest who could hold their breath the longest and I held my breath, with no physical techniques, till I passed out.
It might have been because when I was two years old I was bit by some unknown animal requiring me to have 24 rabie vaccines in my stomach (with a 1 in 3 chance that the level of mercury was as high as thimersol causing autism).
My grades have always been stellar (with ACT scores all in the high nineties) and I was a prince in the home-coming court, etc., so I'm not autistic.
Regardless Newton has shoulder-length hair that was completely white by the age of 40 because of his alchemy experiments heavily relying on mercury.
The external path of alchemy (western science) is very dangerous -- the Chinese couldn't do it and their classical science ended with the equal-tempered music scale.
The West has simply picked up where the Chinese left off and now Kissinger has just as much allegiance with China (sitting on their third largest oil corp. board of directors) as he does in recouping Rockefeller-Chase Manhattan's losses from the revolution against the CIA's Shah.
Of course those Persians are too much like the Assyrians (or should we say Phillistines aka Colin Wilson's gnosticism) which of course the Germans were also compared to the French (the true Gnostic lineage of the Holy Roman Empire) and where does it all end??
Well as the great apocalyptic poltical radical Ignatius Donnelly (hero of John Michell) stated: Africa.
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sun, June 25, 2006 - 11:53 AMI received another PM asking for other websites that have information on this topic.
I recommend Peter Levenda's website and his new books. He has a book coming out in the next couple weeks: Sinister forces, part III. His website is sinisterforces.info
I've posted a lot on his Q and A forum and other people have provided some really good websites for further information.
If people haven't read the stargate conspiracy by Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince then that's essential and Levenda expands on their research.
Another really good website that I posted on breakingopenthehead.com is
"New World Order -- the movie" -- just google that -- it's a geocities website.
They are amazing researchers who might in Africa in the midst of the AIDs genocide and in the midst of realizing that occult forces have conspired to generate that genocide in Africa.
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sun, June 25, 2006 - 12:19 PMDrew.... there is one thing misleading about the whole "sisniter" thing. All this shit, mind control, psychic intrusion and religious mumbo jumbo was brought here by the EUROPEANS.
The Romans, the Royal Families, the mind control devices invented in the Czech republic and Russia etc..... they all have alot of karmic debt to pay to many parts of the world with their Brass Irons and Colonialism....
WTF....
Its not the West that is so BAD. Our idea of Uniting everyone (no matter what their religion or belief) to live happy in one country has always been envied by the BIG BANKERS of the WEU, BRITAIN, ROME etc..... they have infiltrated us to the very level of Top Government and now with the whole world 'hating US', the first and original "beast" will rise to power as the UNITED STATES OF EUROPE.
Whatever.... how psychologically damaging it is for us to think we live in a terrible country when actually we live in a beautiful country, and we are letting oursleves become pushed around by foreign policy and internationalist agenda makers and bankers.
THAT sucks.
This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sun, June 25, 2006 - 2:26 PMJust to cover my bases -- PM the sign is capricorn. Thanks for the message.
The thing about the U.S. is that it really was created by Freemasons. Ben Franklin was in "The Nine Sisters" society of France -- a powerful and very influential occult group tied to Mesmerism (pretty ironic considering Franklin supposedly disproved mesmerism).
Anyway that is found on sinisterforces.info
Noam Chomsky is really a hard read -- "turgid" is the put-down of his style, a word he owns up to only because his subject matter is so intense: how U.S. domestic policy has always relied on expanding a boundary of genocide.
A good book on U.S. power from Europe is "The Money Bankers" -- J.P. Morgan, Paul Warburg -- these are the ties of old money in Europe which was built up by the massive draining of gold and silver through the Spanish Empire.
In the first empire -- Alexander's Empire managed by Aristotle -- the Greeks believed that if you were buried with gold then you ascended straight to heaven.
Goldbugs (be they the John Birch Society or the Nazis or Colombus and his Templar backers) have always been driven by the alchemical power of gold.
In the Andes, as witnessed by the Kogi, gold was used as the most powerful spiritual transducer.
In Asia Gold was donated to the Buddhist temples to be made into pure gold Buddha statues.
Gold is Solar Power.
The investment bankers are not obsessed with making money for its own sake, as Slavoj Zizek erroneously preaches.
Gold and Silver were originally Sun and Lunar ritual sacrifices.
The first colonies in the U.S. were Sovereign Charters by Kings obsessed with Gold Power.
Investment bankers have ALWAYS been international because money is the oldest form of technology and the easiest to spread around.
Paper money was first created in the Chinese Empire and it was always enforced by the military.
The only reason paper money has value is because it's backed by guns.
Investment bankers are obsessed with technological power as alchemy.
The Nazis were created by U.S. and U.K. investors obsessed with Nazi technology: rockets and radar especially.
Mad scientists are more crazier than we imagine. Tesla wanted to transform the whole planet into a free energy system and he was backed by J.P. Morgan -- until Tesla insisted on his system being patent-free.
Patent-free. Even Einstein lived off his patent for a refrigerator.
Can we really patent genes? Biotech is getting tons of money to take the blood of minorities and patent it without their permission.
I uncovered this scam at the U of MInnesota (free asthma tests for latinos!) and then the blood from that lab was stolen! The scientists never knew why people stole blood from their lab because the scientists saw no problem with selling their patented blood to the same corporation that had patented the blood of African peoples without the knowledge of Africans.
Economics is a Science (the dismal religion) and investment banks are really "energy engineers" (freemasons).
Cambridge University posted research into transforming the whole planet into a superconducting holograph so that the planet can survive comets and bend space-time, etc.
Sounds a lot like Tesla -- one difference: patent law.
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sun, June 25, 2006 - 3:05 PMAlso in Brahmin India
Iron became more valuable than silver because of the alchemical power of iron for weapons (to back paper money).
This is how iron replaced the Lunar power of silver in service to the Solar power of Gold.
The U of Minnesota has a great South Asian library which got a new book on this history of iron in India. -
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sun, June 25, 2006 - 4:42 PM"In the Andes, as witnessed by the Kogi, gold was used as the most powerful spiritual transducer."
Slight correction: The Kogi live in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (Colombia), which is not a part of the Andes.
"Cambridge University posted research into transforming the whole planet into a superconducting holograph so that the planet can survive comets and bend space-time, etc."
Sorry, can't fix that one. -
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Sun, June 25, 2006 - 5:11 PMWell I was in the Andes with a friend who is from an indigenous tribe that is now extinct. She, in turn, visited another indigenous tribe farther south in the Andes whose name slips me at the moment. That tribe in turn had direct contact with the Kogi. She already knew about the Kogi and in no way could believe that the Kogi would have been in a documentary until I showed her "the Heart of the World."
Her tribe is the Muki in Venezuela. So there is a direct connect to the Andes although GPS satellite might disagree.
Thanks for the invite -- I'm getting alot of PMs and invites which is nice. I like the whole public forum deal thus far.
I recommend reading professor emeritus Norman Cohn's books "In the Pursuit of the Millenium" and his latest book: "Chaos, Cosmos and the time to come" -- something like that -- it's an excellent structural debunking of western civilization.
His book "Warrant for Genocide" is also very hardcore. The message I get from Cohn is that heretical hermits were much more important in Western history than is given credit.
-
-
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Mon, June 26, 2006 - 10:46 AM"... a friend who is from an indigenous tribe that is now extinct.'
Can that really be true if she's still alive? I've never heard of the Muki, nor can I find anything about them on the web. Are you sure you're spelling that right?
Kogi territory is at the other end of the continent from the southern Andes. That doesn't keep them from being fascinating. Check out:
www.tairona.org
The main beef I have with Alan Ereira's film "From the Heart of the World: The Elder Brothers' Warning" is that it makes no mention of the decades of careful and intense ethnographic documentation of the Kogi by anthropologist Gerardo Reichel-Dolmatoff, upon whose work most of the film is based.
"The message I get from Cohn is that heretical hermits were much more important in Western history than is given credit."
Well, there's probably at least as much blame to be given as credit. Think about Peter the Hermit, who helped stir up the flames of indignation resulting in the First Crusade:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_the_Hermit
I think the world would have been far better off without him.
Mon, June 26, 2006 - 6:14 AMhope i didnt sound like a flamer in my questions drew. i am not a spammer. i never was into any oto stuff, or any euro/western system, which systems, btw, i see as lost in the woods.
i bumped into mind to mind transmission only, from a matrilineal lineage from the east, ancient, and that's all im sayin aobut it. it is never spoken, you are only given direct info to your dreams, mind, etc, and if you screw up, you have to figure it out yourself cuz no one will speak directly about it. this is how pure lineages are preserved. those that remain from the east.
so i appreciate your work drew cuz i fnd bits and pieces that help to explain stuff i can never explain to anyone in the west. -
-
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Mon, June 26, 2006 - 6:20 AMi will say that the matrilineal lineages (in the east) have a tradition of being completely unwritten. this is why no one knows about female teachers and sages from the east, why there is only male stuff. the women kept small groups, to gurad their wisdom, mother passed the high wisdom to daughter, and very few students were accepted. generally, devotion is the key in these lineages. -
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Mon, June 26, 2006 - 7:32 AMRight -- you understand what's up. Consider Paul Dong's latest book on the miracles of the People's Republic of China. Dong is a great writer on "exceptional human functions" -- the Commie name for miracles. Even "qi gong" is a Commie name. Anyway Dong writes that the highest level master in China is considered to be this woman who was presented at a special meeting for only qigong masters.
Maybe I wrote this already. Anyway after 15 minutes of meditation everyone's watch in the room was busted and then she just silently left. No one knows her name.
Master Effie P. Chow is an excellent qigong teacher. She was the first Master I had experienced and her books emphasize the full-lotus. She writes that you should start in the half-lotus and work into the full-lotus.
Her dad died and Master Chow was a nurse and pissed off. She knew that traditional medicine could have saved him. She lived in Canada and was able to practice seriously and travel to China, etc. Now she leads "complimentary" experiments in qigong at the N.I.H.
I was born on Jan. 11 around 10 a.m. in a huge snow storm. -
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Mon, June 26, 2006 - 3:07 PMSo far as finding modern examples of sexuality that are potentially progressive, and at least of an interesting contrast, I would recommend to anyone information on modern sexual relationships in Cuba. I was down there at the age of 18, and hanging out with Cuban musicians of the same age. They were very surprised that we would only have one lover at a time. As well, they were so keen to have sexual relations with us Canadian kids, and we were quite intimidated by their openess on the subject (and the actions beyond the subject). Along with this sexual awareness that I consider healthier than that which I was raised with, there is the physical health correlations to be found in Cuba, i.e. a low rate of sexually transmitted disease, low infant mortality (i.e. healthy babies... I feel lost on how to use that term), less societal judgement on abortion... As well, I regognize there is still a great deal of sexism in Cuba, and young musicians are a unique demograph that I was exposed to.
Also, there is the experience of the French 'Instinctos', where a community of about 40 people ended up interacting sexually with groups of 3 being the predominant relationship type, and homosexual relationships also predominating. This was something that evolved over a period of years, in contrast to the community coming together with such an intent. The essence of this model was described to me as "2+1". The observation was that we so often fall in love with other people, and that for those in a relationship our cultural norm conditions a 2-1 reaction, where the standing relationship breaks up to accomodate relations to the new person, or the new person is not received. 2+1 brings the new person in to the relationship. As well, the sophistication required of 3 people meeting each others emotional needs seems to have an unfolding effect on the consciousness of the heart. Communicating EVERYTHING is key.
I would also recommend the Science Fiction of Sherri S. Tepper. She was head of Planned Parenthood in the State of Oregon, and then went on to be an author. Her books reflect many progressive viewpoints on the subject of societal planning, religion, ecology (within very intriguing worlds and storylines). Particularly in the book "A Plague of Angels", there is one region that is autonomous of the stories authoritarian society, carries an aboriginal cultural feel, and has many societal codes for allowing the population to exist harmoniously with the earth and with each other.
I consider that coming to a place in which we are able to communicate our awareness without fear of judgement will allow for a flow that creates the most beautiful and harmonious types of relationships to unfold. If folks have more interest in the "2+1" style relationships I mentioned above, I do have some insiders experience and would love to share story. There's certainly cracks and shards among it, though the experience and growth have been very nourishing. -
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Mon, June 26, 2006 - 4:06 PMThat's interesting. Unfortunately in the last ten years there's been an explosion of prostitution in Cuba. Now you can say well it should just be legal and no problem but in Cuba it's the main way to get hard currency -- dollars that undermine the "progressive" socialism.
I should add that I read while literacy is so high in Cuba their reading material available in libraries and stores is scant. Certainly this can be attributed to the blockade but there may be some cultural reasons as well. Again "progressive" politics is based on education.
In Mexico most people read one book a year if that -- compared to say Sweden which is more like one book every other week.
It sounds bad but I think that environment has a hell of a lot to do with sexuality.
If you can get lots of meat then sex comes easily.
If you can get lots of sunshine then sex comes easily as well.
People who live in northern climates tend to have less body contact to the point of being shy -- probably because they need to conserve energy when it's really cold out.
One of the main ways that the inland Innuit of Canada (read Farley Mowhat's "People of the Deer" kept warm in 80 below zero F. was to eat lots and lots of meat.
But having sex causes the heat to be lost.
The world is rapidly running out of water because people are eating tons of meat for sex.
Westerners who can go to Cuba and do this (just as European women go to Gambia for the same) provide a serious influx of hard currency.
It's the Gambia's top source of hard currency (at least a few years ago).
Human trafficking for sex (and other extreme dominant-submissive behaviors) is the third largest source of income in the world after drugs and weapons.
Nevertheless these types of cultural exchanges are exciting.
When I was studying in Costa Rica I attended a highschool birthday party where I was the only gringo. The birthday girl was 17 and drunk and repeatedly demanded, in front of everyone, that I sleep with her. I said I had a girlfriend and she said -- she'll never know -- and they kept repeating "si o no," "si o no"
It was funny to say the least. -
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Mon, June 26, 2006 - 9:12 PMit seems my position is the most unpopular. i am married, one child, monogamous and straight relationship. i am divorced once and the father of my daughter and i are friends, more like siblings, with trust and a desire to be the best parents we can be. seems normal, but the dire will to change things into something more "neo" contemporary, consciousness expanding hoo haa is beyond what i see as balance. it seems like a twisted window of possibility that is much like reinventing the wheel, just my observation though. i say, be integral, purge the issues with intent to find balance. communicate and be honest. seems simple enough. -
Re: sex, gender, consciousness, and 2012
Tue, June 27, 2006 - 8:27 AMRead a few essays from the late 60s women's liberation movement yesterday. One was very interesting, written by a woman academic, apparently famous in its time. (I will get the source info later). She suggested that the insatiability of the female sex drive became a problem for pre-modern matriarchal civilization, and that the development of patriarchy repressed it in order to develop civilization. I also read a famous essay by Alix Kates Schulman about the stupidity of the masculine obsession with vaginal sex in relation to female anatomy, ending with the line,
"Think clitoris."
I thought that might make a good t-shirt slogan.
Oh also, a friend in SF has been doing research on genetic differences between men and women. He told me that the difference between men and women genetically is as significant as the difference between humans and chimpanzees. He also said that each woman is distinct genetically by the same statistical proportion, whereas men are much more similar. What this means, in practice, is that a man has to approach every woman as if he is encountering a new and original species.
As support for this concept, my friend noted that the animus projection of women tends to be a crowd of men, while the anima projection of men is one individual woman.
Wondering if this rings true somehow to others? It makes intuitive sense to me, but I would like to delve into the science.
